It's just behind the rear passenger side seat. Not sure where it's from.... Safe to either yank it off or snip it?

Its the elastic band which is part of the plastic covering that covered all of your interior and seating areas. It should have been properly removed during the PDI (pre delivery inspection) process. You can snip it off if you wish.

Don't yank it - it's the ISF self-destruct mechanism.

well, just look at the pic! There's an anchor, and its attached to a baby car seat.
So obviously, thats where you attach an anchor to your car, so that you don't drive too fast if you have a baby in there... ;-)

if you pull it out, 7 grey ones will pop out - and it will grow faster and thicker

btw, i still have one also, runs along the bottom of my seats.

does anyone else also have a small clear plastic piece near the bottom of their rear doors, on the paint itself? i left mine on, it looks like it's there to protect against shoe marks... i'll post a pic...

don't laugh, i did this in two mins with my iphone and photobucket!

Every single toyota/lexus I have seen lately has this. It is there to protect the paint. Although I hate how junk gets in there and makes it noticeable.

If you pull that, your entire car is going to unravel. One day you'll be driving along and your car will just fall apart around you in one long continuous line of thick thread!

Actually, I did pull the wire right out. But then afterwards I read the IS-F service manual and it clearly indicates the wire is the cancellation feature for the auto-destruct sequence. Which means if I accidentally set off the real trigger (dialing the "funky town" tone on the bluetooth) there would be no way to cancel it and I would just have to run my *** away from my car as fast as humanly possible before... *boom*

I can't believe Lexus thought of a clearbra to protect against potential scuff marks from these almost useless backseats but left this soft paint wide open to damage from definite high speeds encounters with rocks, bugs, and slow pedestrians!

Almost as annoying as the old style clock, mismatched lights like the green button lights with blue gauges, and the gauges don't even change colors like in the regular ISx50's. At least the fish scale CF is nice!

Even the CLS Mercedes has that
I think it has to do with the way the wider wheels extend out of the arches and can throw stuff up.

regarding the clear plastic by the rear doors, you didnt have to buy a F to feel special to get the plastic pieces, you couldve just spent a mere 32k on a 250 and got the same treatment....oh any by they way if you cut that string you motor will automatically default to a 250...hahahah
