What size MM spacer did you slap on the rear???

The 19x9.5 and 285/30 variables remain the same... The spacer size will tell me how much more you pushed the TSW wheel outward.

Okay with the way the 5axis rim is made it looks like a 40mm offset will work on the rear, without hitting the brake, so I may need a different rim on the rear to fit the tires

Well here are your options for rear rim size and offsets in this wheel model.
  • 19x9.5 35mm offset (im sure the ones you got)

  • 19x9.5 45mm offset

  • 19x10.5 33mm offset

Good luck at the Tire shop & bring a camera!!

I don't know if I have an extra 10mm of space I can see if they can do a custom offset.. I think its like an extra 20 a rim?

Edit: I can do a custom offset on this rim!!! I'm going to go with the 40mm

Okay, did some measuring 20ish mm space between the brake and rim, so the 45mm might work. I also checked the rear of the rim and it has a 50mm space to the body at the tightest point.

The rear tires rub the inner fender lip ever so slightly on heavy rear suspension compression.
On stock ride height at the moment.. But still very Fush!!!
I plan to shave my rear fenders just a bit so once I drop it, there will be NO Rubbing..

I am certain the 285/30 will rub like crazy in the rear..
Your Rear fenders will need shaving for sure..

Front 19x8.5 30mm offset - 235/35

Rear 19x9.5 35mm offset - 265/30

hehe, one more question, how come the tire for the front is 19/235/35
and the rear tire is 19/235/30 ???

im confused about the two bolded numbers. shouldn't they be the same size? that number is the measurement of the tire height, and since both wheels are 19 inch.. i assume they should be the same.. no?

wzin,

I have the same setup on my IS250...

Front 19x8.5 30mm offset - 235/35/19

Rear 19x9.5 35mm offset - 265/30/19

BUT, I did the calculations from the stock ISX50 18"s (255/40/18), and actually... the correct size should be 265/35/19 for the rears. (Rolling diameter would be ~1% different from stock)

The 265/30/19 tires make the speedo approx 3% off...

As for rubbing issues... I have no idea... I don't rub at all, ever, with the 265/30s. I'm planning on getting the 265/35/19s (so my speedo is more accurate) when I have to replace my rears so I'm hoping there isn't any rubbing issues!

ahh, i see, thx alot for ur expertise hehe. it still amazes me how much the tires cost. i was quoted for the tires to be the same price for the rims.. $1000 for rims and another 1000 for tires XD. im looking around for cheapers tires. a friend suggestion to only get new tires for the back, cuz my car is RWD. whats do u think..

oo, what are some decent tires taht won't kill my bank. i don't go down to track or any of those, so i won't need like super crazy good ones.

Sidewall Aspect Ratio

Typically following the three digits identifying the tire's Section Width in millimeters is a two-digit number that identifies the tire's profile or aspect ratio.

P225/50R16 91S

The 50 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 50% of its section width. The measurement is the tire's section height, and also referred to as the tire's series, profile or aspect ratio. The higher the number, the taller the sidewall; the lower the number, the lower the sidewall. We know that this tire size's section width is 225mm and that its section height is 50% of 225mm. By converting the 225mm to inches (225 / 25.4 = 8.86") and multiplying it by 50% (.50) we confirm that this tire size results in a tire section height of 4.43". If this tire were a P225/70R16 size, our calculation would confirm that the size would result in a section height of 6.20", approximately a 1.8-inch taller sidewall.

humm, its more clear to me now. so if i switch from my oem stock tires which have a side wall of 45 to 35, i'll be looking at a THINNER side wall of 10 MM.

How about my offset? i look online and in my lexus booklet for my oem offset but no luck. how much of an offset change am i looking at if i switch to the 19 inch?

The Reason for the 265/30, instead of 265/35, is that the 35 will look much thicker when you visually look at the side of the car.

The Front 235/35 balances well with a Rear 265/30...

Kinda like the oem tire sizes

Also, an IS250/IS350 will get some rubbing issues if lowered up front with our set up. The rears will clear just fine...

On the IS-F the fronts clear just fine, however on the rears, the fender lips needs shaving...

oo, so you purposely did tht. but giantfans say that you will get a 3 km off reading on your speed. is that true for you?

when you say shaving is require, i'll read that multiple times else where, wht does it actually do. taking a knife and cutting the inside well of the wheel? XD
