To all the stacked quad critics

The diffuser thing on the F is the way of the future.
It is a clever bit of industrial engineering. Since modern styling dictates prominent exhaust tips exposed, there is the problem of visually ALIGNING them!
That's the whole reason for this device, it is to simplify production and reduce consumer complaints of mis-aligned exhaust tips.
The exhaust system is in fact, SUPPOSED to move. The engine and drive train by design move in their mounts with torque from the engine. Any time you stop the engine, the exhaust system is likely to be just about any where within the allowable range of motion.
If the styling department calls for dual tips, it is virtually impossible to maintain a perfect alignment between the two, either on the production line due to normal dimensional tolerances, or in use from normal movement.
So the fix, is to apply the cosmetic tips in a manner that they will not move around.
That's what Lexus did and you will in fact, see this more and more because of the reason I just set out.
All exhaust tips are "fake". None of them required to be there at all, they are all just dress and not functional. I see no problem with affixing them to the bumper as they are on the F.

Those look pretty nice but they appear to be actual muffler tips as opposed to diffusers. Hard to tell in that pic. The single tip diffusers from Joe Z's post are interesting as well and a more distinctive departure from the stock look for those who want to stand out from the crowd (not that the IS-F has a "crowd" ).
Not to hijack the thread, but what type of wheels are those?

That was a one off custom built quad muffler system by Greddy.
The entire protoype car was built for displaying in Lexus Tents and/or Events, to show what can be done in the aftermarket sector.
NOT scheduled for production anytime soon, in the near future or even later future.. IMHO..
I can't see the pic due to work firewalls.. but I can see the pic address has sema in it..
Regards,
Joe Z

Let me ask a question since I don't have my IS-F physically in front of me yet.
How are the dual oval tips secured to the car? Can it be removed from the bumper since it's not attached to the exhaust?
I'm hoping the entire thing can be removed with no damage to the car so give me a chance to fabricate something else with irreversable harm....my buddy owns a machine shop and was going to ask him to keep the dual oval design but make something more aggressive.
