Default Exhaust Symphony - Joe-Z Catback vs. Borla Axleback System

Today I had the opportunity to meet up with geneva and check out his Borla Axleback system. The exhaust sounds great and he was/is very satisfied with the product from Borla. I know many people doubted the quality of Borla products before but from what I saw and heard, everything was top quality. This is definitely a great substitute for someone who wants a more throaty sounding ride but without a full blown catback.

Here are a few vids that I shot. Unfortunately all I had was a handheld Canon digital camera so they aren't ideal. You can definitely hear a change from stock in both exhausts but the deep lows that both exhausts exhibit, don't come through quite as much. At least the Joe-Z owners can agree with me. Both cars have Joe-Z intakes paired with the TOM'S filter FYI.

From the vids you can also see how the mufflers and exhaust tips align with the four diffusers in the bumper, and how they differ for both systems.

Enjoy!!!!!!

Here is a vid of just the Borla Axleback system:

And here are the two being compared side-by-side:

If/when we get a chance, we'll shoot some more extensive vids for both systems. Thanks

thanks DRE1615 was fun today and agree the deep throaty sound of both systems is kind of lost but the Joe-Z definately has quite a bit more authority! Will give it another go if we can come up with a better source and maybe even a few side by side performance runs to really stir things up!!!!

Borla has not produced any dyno numbers but from direct conversations with Borla reps, the axle back flows @ 270-300 cfm of air more than stock and estimated @ 10-12 HP gain. Many have dyno'd Joe-Z and showing gains of @ 20-25 HP. Both are significate upgrades to stock IMO but the volume & HP is just turned up higher on the Joe-Z!

Both sounds good, I would say the Joe Z is more throatier on top and the Borla system sounds deeper while idle and at lower rpms. Anyhow both sounds sick. Great sound comparison.

I'd really like to hear the true dual from borla as that would really be what needs to be compared to the JoeZ.

Sounds nice but I agree I would like to hear the cat back version of the Borla.

^^^^ If anyone in the Chicagoland area has the Borla catback, I invite them to meet with Tim and I for a comparison.

sorry for the "love taps" (pretty funny!!) but was also revving DRE1615's car and always try to respect someone else's ride. Next time we'll give it the beans!!!!
