Does anyone know if you have to take the front bumper off to take out the fog lamp covers? The CF wrap will be here later this week and I'm going to wrap them. Thanks in advance!

People on here have tried to resin the fabric (on interior pieces) without too much success. If you are gonna resin them why not just buy real carbon fiber matting? I think you'd have more success going that route.

Problem is, how do you get the carbon mat to stick to the plastic?

Pretty close. The manufacturers use the same stuff.

not quite, they use a sprayed contact adhesive like an upholstery shop...non aerosol. The number one problem with resin on carbon is that the resin does not wick into the fiber. Then you get a MAGIC SHELL effect, then spider cracks...then rogue pieces flaking off. This my friends is why prepreg was invented.

This would make sense if the problem was the finish on the surface. It's not. The question is how to stick the fabric to the plastic.

3M 77 will work just like contact cement, and I've seen upholstery shops using it to stick fabric to plastic for years. If I were putting faux CF with a fabric backing on anything, I'd use 3M 77 because I know it will work and stay stuck for a long time.

The manufacturers actually have to use this because it does not have VOCs. Super 77 does, so they had to stop using it.

Full catalog here.
