btwanky,

Have you noticed any changes to your speedo, is it reading the correct speed?

BTW, it looks good. As another stated I am planning on going to 265 35 19 when it is time.

Good upgrade to the PS2s!!

** Small important side note... **

Your rear wheels are mounted backwards..

The wheels pictured on your "Drivers Side" belongs on the passenger side.

The wheel pictured on your "Passenger Side" belongs on the drivers side...

Simple swap if the tires are NOT directional... !!
If they are directional, then its a dismount & remount correctly....

From looking at your pics (hard to tell), but I think the fronts are mounted correctly.

FYI for ALL:
If you ever remove the wheels and can't remember where they go, each wheel is marked on one of the (inner side) blade face.

Joe, You're right of course on the wheel mounting, I missed that the first time I looked at the pics. The PS2 has an Asymmetric Tread Pattern, and therefore has an inside and an outside. They are not Unidirectional. Therefore the wheels can just be swapped from side to side.

Also, IMHO, the OP should have put a 275/30/19 on there to keep the OD close to stock. The 275/30 would have been .2" lower (.4" less in OD) and the 275/35 is .3" higher (.6" more in OD) than the stock 255/35 PS2.

yah seems like everything works fine so far... i dont think their actually bigger or anything?.. just wider.. stock were 255/35/19.. and these are 275/35/19... so i don't think it would mess up the speedometer at all?..

Same here and a 235/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear will have the same sidewall height which looks balanced.

Does the speedo read off of the front wheels?

This is actually a no no. This isn't good. I've recently purchased tires for my IS350 and after having many conversations with multiple tire places (Tirerack.com, Discountire.com, 1010tires.com) - I went with 225/35/19 fronts and 255/35/19 rears.

**NOTE** - ALL 3 TIRE PLACES STATED: Not to vear off from Lexus's specs to much. That doing so would start messing w/ the cars system - braking, track control... I can't exactly remember but there was a long list of things that could either be damaged or thrown off if the rear tires aren't .5 - to - .8 inches in diameter larger then the fronts.
They all said, you can go plus sizes ect.. but keep the rears .5 to .8 inches larger.

(I wanted to go w/ Bridgestone RE960 Pole Position A/S tires and they only offered 235/35/19 245/35/19 & 275/30/19) - I thought going w/ the 235/35/19's and 275/30/19's was good, but they all highly recommended I didn't do that.

So I went with another brand that offered more sizes... Anyway, can anyone else shed some light on this? All 3 places were all in lock on this issue. What do you think? I see so many people running 'off mfr spec' tires sizes here... all seemingly without problems...

As I indicated above they are in fact bigger. They are an inch bigger in OD than the stockers.

I don't know who you spoke to, but they are wrong, assuming your wheels do not have an aggressive offset and are at least 9" wide. If they have an offset like the stockers, +55mm, 275/30/19s will work just fine.

IMO those rears don't look good, the sidewall is noticeable bigger than OEM, your speedo for sure will be off. You should have done some research before switching tires, asking the shop guy for the biggest tire he can fit on the stock rim wasn't a good idea. I agree with most of the people here, 275/30/19 would have been the best option (again on stock rims).

I see your point (numerically), but my experience with the drones at Tire Rack and Discount tires causes me to discount their advice. Their staff is mandated to stick to the script about this and other subjects too. The owner and senior staff of my tire/wheel shop has much more in-depth technical experience and knowledge.

Note: look at the extreme variation with a space saver tire, of course there are speed limitations.
