small progress today as we cleaned up one side of the system with a single continuos bend...This was the side that previously hung down (pass side.) To reduce cost, the minimal number of bends is desired. It looks like it will not be until later this week that he will have the tooling back on to do the other side and then get the stainless mandrel bends programmed. I have moved on to the clamps for the hangers on the Ti cans. Every detail of this system takes a lot of time and design work, I will post up more pics when I snap em.

well, being summer my exhaust guy has been slammed with other tooling on the Bender. So today's update is that the 2.5" tooling is going back on tomorrow and hopfully we get the first SS bends done and a complete system for dyno and G meter testing.

Thanks for hanging in there guys, I guess I am lucky that there are not a great deal of options out there, but I promise it will be done right in the end. Fig

I am told the 2.5" sections were completed today and the 3" sections will be done on Monday. Man, by the time I am done with this, they will discontinue the mufflers I bet.

I have not been able to get back to the grill with all the suspension parts I have been working on. Hopefully soon.

I sorted through all the mounting today and I think I have the lightest weight version via welding to the stainless band that holds the Ti muffler. I have a prelim estimate of 22Lbs with SS tubing and Ti cans. The stock system I weigh to be 40lbs. I will have to get an estimate for full Ti. I think I have one last trip and get the last of everything welded up, spring cups etc and then I can dyno.

I also picked up a Borla system for dyno comparison on my vehicle. A member was selling it and bought a set of coilovers...so I put it towards his purchase.
More this week.

Here are the pics. The hangers were mock up to get alignment heights dialed in. Also the custom cup interface that I had to design is not on this proto type as I am still waiting for production samples.

I did do a sanity test on the tone from the uncorked tubing and I think I am going to be happy. It has that nice crisp sound, but not a lot of rasp or excessive resonation. Its a higher pitch that I expected I could get...which is what I was looking for in an exhaust note. The cans should mute it further and I think it will be just about right.

Finally, some pics for you guys. Hangers are all mounted and the system is fully welded up as of tonight. Here are the pics from the day on the lift. It just snowed today but if the weather turns around I should have things dynoed later this week. I will post up sound clips as soon as I can also. Thanks Fig
