I am close to pulling the trigger on a 2008 ISF. Living in California, I am tired of spinning my wheels trying to find the best deal possible, especially with the 9.25% tax rate. So far this is the best deal I can find.

2008 Silver Metallic ISF
ML
NAV
8000 miles
$47,500 + T/T

Should I do it????

Ya...even though the economy isn't doing well it seems especially hard to negotiate a lower price than what the dealers are asking for..anybody else having the same difficulty?

There are still a few new 08s left. There were a couple in Bakersfield. I think you can
get a new 08 with < 100 miles for about $49k. Work the phones in nearby cities for a while.

If it is brand new with basically no miles, then yes, that is a fair deal.

New to CL so first let me say that I love this car. I'm close to selling my '07 vette in favor of a year round car. I haven't bought yet and I'm still on the fence between the IS F and the M3. Here is what I was quoted at a local dealership for the OP.

1. '08 Used (non-certified demo car) 1800 miles, no nav, $43,985.

2. '08 New loaded with nav $55,300

I like the thought of the new one with Nav but not for 11k more. Not sure $55.3 is that great a deal for an '08 with the $5k in factory money that is out there.

It's not. Most of us are getting left over new 08's around $49k. edmunds.com will give you true cost in your area. but if you get a new one for only 2-3k more (even if you have to pay another $1k for shipping), imho i would get a new one because of the sales tax money you'll get back anyways. the east coast has a few left.

I would not pick up a non-CPO ISF yet. I do trust Lexus, but this their first performance car. There should be plenty of CPO becoming available soon and this year is already half-way done so the 09 prices will only continue to drop also.

if you find you can't lower the price anymore, try to get them to throw in something

NAV is a must have on a car like this! all used F's i've seen sell in the last few months have been in the low to high 40's. a new F in the low to mid 50's is a good deal still. atleast you didn't have to pay sticker like i did (which was worth it when it came out).

I've been in the market for a used F as well. I seen a few in the area (so cal) for less with the same amount of miles. I'm sure u can find a better deal. Good luck!!

you should be able to get him down to 45,000. make a firm offer and see what they say. i bought the same car with 5000 miles for 45,000. i dicked around for the dealer for days before i gave him my final offer or i walk and he grabbed it.
