Default My wheels are pitting/discoloration too..

Sent these pictures to my dealership. I'm waiting for their answer Monday. This does not look normal to me especially at 10,000 on the odo and being a 63,000 vehicle.

i'm pissed!

Good luck, I have the pitting too. I have been able to remove most of it during cleaning the wheels but I had to scrub really hard. My car is just over 10k as well.

Let me know how it goes...I am going through same trouble and my dealership refused to do anything about it....They did not even attempt to get them cleaned!

Are you letting the product sit for a long time? I see a lot of overspray onto your rotors.

I was told that I should not use any sort of cleaner on the wheels by Lexus here in Japan and it looks like the wheel cleaner has caused the discoloration. I just use car wash , a really soft sponge and elbow grease when I clean them or I have the dealer clean them for me. Hard to removed brake dust I used a claybar. But since I have started regulary cleaning them every week , no brake dust accumulates that I have had to use the claybar.

Wow man, that sucks! Keep us updated on what your dealership says! I use the same Meguiars cleaner and haven't had a problem yet with it...good luck!

I get that too, but I haven't scrubbed hard to see if it comes off. Those with this problem, have you tried polish on it?

Isn't there a small disclaimer on the bottle to test on small area??

Also, did you use the product while the rims were still "Hot".. ??

I always use normal warm water & car soap, especially on painted wheels...

^ I think that package just replaces wheels that are damaged beyond repair and undriveable.

yeah they do look pretty bad, you may want to try polishing them to remove it.
Meguires All Wheel Cleaner did the same thing to my HIGH POLISHED iforged rims, but I was able to remove the discoloration and haziness with polish.

I switched to Meguires polished wheel cleaner which is a lot easier on your wheels its in a BLUE bottle and it works perfectly.

i wouldn't use any wheel cleaner on wheels..just use the same car wash soap you use to wash your car with..that should be more than enough..also from the pics it looks like it could be from the tire shine that you use..what tire shine do you use and do you wipe off the excess tire shine before driving?
