I used to know just about the entire Servie team there, but that was back in 2001... I have no idea whos there now, since I've been on the West Coast for over a few years now..

Hey Salil022, any update on the engine clicking sound when you took it to another Lexus Dealer?

I called Lexus Corporate again instead of going to another dealer!! Lexus Corporate is trying to schedule an appointment with their Regional Service Rep,I told them how i want to talk to Regional Rep in person and want them to hear the Sound!! I will request them to start another IS-F and show me the sound..Hopefully that will get me somewhere

Just as an update....I had a meet with Lexus rep today and yet once again he told me how this is the character of the engine!!! i was really frustrated at this point and told him to show me another IS-F with this sound and i will drop the issue!! He goes Lexus does not have to prove anything so this sound is normal

Did you show him this 7 page thread and the interest the Lexus community has shown? His answer is totally unacceptable. They do in fact have to prove to you that the noise is normal. I would not have let him get away. I would have told him that his answer was unacceptable and asked who his immediate supervisor was and how to contact him or her.

I've printed the whole thread and took it along with me as well as a DVD recording!!! They were like it does not matter what clublexus has to say about it...They agree sound is there but they are like its the high performance motor characteristics.

Default Ticking....

have you considered entering arbitration on the engine?

i'll relay a quick story...

2005 Acura TL. External temp sensor didn't work right. This input feeds the AC system. About 7 repairs later, I submitted a Florida Lemon Law claim.

Entered arbitration on the vehicle.

they bought it back (14 months after new) - with 30k miles on it... for $3700 less than what I paid for it.... i was quite happy....tires were shot, etc etc etc.

just a thought.

car manufacturers tend to be VERY responsive when the claim is official or an attorney is involved.

doug

P.S... my car makes a ticking sound at idle as well, but it's not as bad as your video.... i chock it up to a dual overhead cam big *** motor....

That is what i am thinking at this point but since the sound is not a safety concern...Do you guys think i have a chance to get something done?

Sad to say, but it's time for arbitration. They're full of it. Mine doesn't make a noise like this and blaming it on the high performance aspect is a total crock. Requesting arbitration will definitely get their attention.

I have been following this thread since the beginning and I have been checking for the noise. Guess what? I got it today. It is not as loud as the posted video, but it was unmistakable. When I got home, it was gone. I have not been able to reproduce it since this morning. Now I just have the injector tick.

Has this issue just been with 2008's or has this come up in 2009's as well?

Here is an Update...After getting frustrated i just took the car over to a different Lexus dealer and they think it's one of the fuel pumps that is making that sound!! They told me IS-F has 2 fuel pumps..So they went ahead and ordered one and hopefully that will fix this issue!!! At least they are making an attempt!!

I should know early next week and will keep you guys posted

Good, I hope it solves the problem. I have noticed my F making the same sound as yours intermittently, although not as loud as yours. Keep me updated because if the new fuel pump fixes the problem, I'm taking mine straight to the dealership.

Salil,

Lexus of Wilmington is under new managment now (Koon's), The service there seems better. The old managment was . Anyway, lets see if the fuel filter fixes the issue.
