Default iPod Kit Install / Sewell Lexus

Does anyone have a spare air vent horizontal flap? What a PITA getting that air vent trim removed! Other than the air vent trim removal, everything else wasn't bad regarding the installation.

I wanted to thank Sewell Lexus for the great pricing and support. The kit didn't have installation instructions and Darrel Diller emailed them over upon request.

http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...l.asp?id=90139

Type in "CLUBLEXUS" in the Promo Code box and it should bring the iPod kit price down to $216.xx.

It's an item you can DIY but if you're not careful, those clips on the vents will break off easily. The vent is not cheap either.

I'm glad I got my IS-F with the iPod kit already installed. I don't listen to radio nor CDs, it's iPod all the time!

2 Questions guys:

1) Is the Lexus Ipod interface kit the only option for our cars if we want the Ipod to be integrated into the M/L system?

2) What was the msrp price for this Ipod kit option if installed from factory?

3) What plug/play kit do I need to bypass the NAVI / DVD watching safety function?

Looking for only those 2 upgrades to my interior as I do not have the Ipod kit installed right now.

Rick,

I have Vais aftermarket ipod integration kit (which has a few more options than the Lexus one) and the navigation override adapter. There's a group buy that may be still available in the vendor forum for the Vais kit, and below is my thread with pics and tips on where to purchase the navigation override system.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...tion-pics.html

I'm extremely happy with both of my kits. I had a friend at best buy install both of my kits and a sub system all in one day. Make sure to program the Ipod in the CD/MP3 mode otherwise it won't lists all the songs as shown in my pics.

Since I don't have the Vais kit, what does it have that the OEM iPod kit doesn't have?
