First, it should try and beat the m3.....
I think it will pull in a quick run below 140mph, but after that IS-F will take over.
Take a look at these videos...
If you are running straight lines its one thing, easy.
But if you take that 335i, out on the race track, it will get so much heat soak that most of the time the turbos shut down.

I really cant speak for all isf owners... But with just a secondary cat delete i beat the fastest JB3 335i in south Florida that i know of. Got the video to prove it

Dinan tuned 335i's are faster than E92 M3's, and they're also faster than IS-F's. Reliability is another (separate) conversation, but this thread is focusing on performance. An IS-F also won't be able to turn with either one of those cars on a track.

In terms of acceleration, that turbo setup is so mod friendly that you can cheaply tune that car to be a monster! So I wouldn't be surprised for it to beat a lot of performance cars. I agree that reliability is always going to be a concern.

By 3/10 of a second on the circuit and 1/10 of a second in the 1/4 mile? I'd hardly call that a win. That's so close that if you ran that test 10 times, you'd probably get 10 different results.
You mean the one where the 335i pulls on the M3 on both of the runs where the M3 didn't jump the start?
Stock vs. stock, sure the IS-F would probably win. However OP was asking about an IS-F vs. a Dinan-tuned 335i, which as we can all see is as fast (or faster) than an M3. Having driven all three of these cars on closed racetracks, I'm sorry to inform the Lexus faithful that the handling in the BMW - both the 335i and the M3 - was better than the IS-F. I am by no means saying that the IS-F has poor handling, far from it. But if you've ever driven a BMW hard, you would know exactly what I mean when I talk about handling. Fantastic turn in, very connected feel, and easy to drive fast. Combine this with the fact that there are several tuned 335i's running high 11's in the 1/4 mile (with most of the others running low to mid-12's), and the gap begins to widen. The absolute best IS-F 1/4 mile known so far is James' 12.385. The 335i also has the weight advantage (3593 or 3605 lbs. depending if you want stick or not) over the IS-F (3780 lbs).

Besides, the GT-R at the track day I attended wasn't pulling on me down the fastest part of the track from turn 8 to turn 11, so I figure the F isn't nearly as slow as some of these magazine racers would like to believe.

Just buy a 135i and Dinan the hell out of it. You'll have just as much power but with 400 lbs less. I'm surprised we are not seeing more rediculous Dinan and JB3 135 kill videos. They should be plenty faster then an similarly equipped 335i.
