So.. made it out to the track tonight. Some good news, some bad news.

Good:

Yay. DR's!

Bad:
84F+, 80%+ humidity.
(All runs done with traction control off, sport mode on)

No spray, full auto mode: No spray, paddle shifting (I think):

Spray, full auto, 1st gear skip: Spray, paddle, 1st gear skip:

Spray, full auto, no 1st gear skip!: Spray, full auto, no 1st gear skip!:

A little more info -

My first time out on DR's. Definitely a new experience. You can actually (well, I think so) feel them "squat" when you hit 80+. It's a very bizarre feeling.

EVERYONE (except the grand cherokee srt-8, go figure!) were running horrible times tonight. The C63 I ran was running 13.5-13.8. I know the car can do better than that, so I am suspecting my numbers were (even higher) than normal due to the heat/humidity/etc.

The good news is - spraying dropped 1~ sec from my 1/4 time. Spraying in 1st gear as well also (as expected) resulted in a slightly quicker 60'. I only got to spray a few times, and on my last run I was actually at a reasonably low pressure (bottles nearing empty).. I think if the bottles were full I would have made a better run.

My R/T times tonight are particularly bad, but that's got little (no) bearing on the outcome of the runs.

I found it interesting that the 1st and 2nd before the last run, I ran 12.657 exactly (2x in a row). Maybe I should have played the lottery tonight....

One of the last two runs was against a '04 CL600. It was recorded, too.. so as soon as he posts the video on youtube i'll post a link....

(As a side note, someone accused me of having a 'Fake IS-F' because I had ISx50 rims on the back... eediots)

You should be faster oztiks. I personally have been there with you when the weather is ****ty and i know it makes big difference. But you should be trapping much higher. How did the car feel once you got into 3rd gear? Was the pull as strong as it should be on the N20. How low were your bottles. It seems like you were only getting N20 for a fraction of the run.

We need to figure this out bro. With the power your car is capable of producing you should trap 120+... Im going to text you this week i think. Parts are coming In

Oz,

I agree you should have been trapping much higher. When you ran 12.42@118.92 the DA was +1692. You ran last night with a very similar DA of +1762 and ended up with 12.61@115.25. I believe you even had a better 60' last night and wind direction and speed were nearly the same as your previous run as well. Keep working at it and I'm sure you'll get it right soon.

OK, wait a min... Does anyone not see something wrong with this?
1) DA sucks YES, but 80 degrees = a 200hp loss. I don't think so.
2) Trap speeds and times are all over the place, why? Its an auto, were you spinning?

* The times posted don't add up. A stock IS250 in 80 degree weather with close to the same DA at any other track would run 14.xx also.
**POINT** That track is having t-box issues, Never return at that track again. They have problems with there equipment.
2.3 60' do suck (some skill improvment needed / not hating) but you should have better than 8.7 1/8 when spraying.

I see lots wrong with it. That's what i'm trying to figure out, though. Your constructive feedback is appreciated. No offense taken. I'm by NO MEANS a pro, nor do i claim to be one.

I do want to run another track, just don't have the time. I'm not going to use the track as my excuse.. yet.

http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...ag-Racing.html

Shows normal C63 runs. The C63 last night was running 13.4++. I know some of the cars on DT are modded, but even the stock ones seem to be running low-mid 12's......

:47 is me vs CL600. Before that it's CL600 vs new C63.

The run at :47 is the LAST timeslip I posted above (1251 vs 7077)

(All stories are fictional, performed by stunt drivers on closed tracks. Do not attempt)

Got to run an IS-F tonight, not sure if it was bone stock or not. USB with blacked out tails; nice looking car. Ran it from about 20~+ 80~ and then from 80~+ to (???)... I actually recorded the run but since it was dark the camera just shows black At any rate, I completely smoked the IS-F at both speeds .. as expected.

I also got to be 'adventurous' and got to 120 at WOT and kicked on the nitrous, the car pulled solidly to 160 when I backed off...

Made it out to the track today. Much nicer weather (low 70's). Only got three runs in, sadly.

Here's the somewhat interesting results:

No Spray (me vs porsche 997 TT): Spray, 1st gear skip: (me vs porsche 997 TT)
Spray, 1st gear included: (me vs "sc2.5")

I wanted to get more baseline runs in (no spray) but the track was so disorganized/slow I knew I had to spray ASAP, so I only got one base run.

All runs were VSC off, sport, full auto.

The first run was "okay" but I am pretty sure the car can run better than that even w/o spray.

The second run was the best (spray, 1st gear skip), but still not better than my previous best. I did notice some slippage, but it actually felt like the tire spinning on the rim. Need to investigate this one more but again, total chaos, trying to get runs in, etc.

The third run was mediocre, (spray, 1st gear included). It's interesting that my 60' is pretty consistent across the board, but even spraying in 1st gear I am actually SLOWER than not spraying in 1st (at least on this run). I really wish I got to do a few more runs, the weather was perfect, but the track organization/prep was not....

More to come.

(me and the porsche lined up):

^^ Nice runs... M mode with manual paddle shifting will actually yield better 1/4 mile times when compared to Full Auto.

"Caymandive" alerted me to this and I have actually confirmed it to work.!!

When I do runs I try to do a few baselines in full auto, etc. Then I normally swap over to manual/M mode. Unfortunately, since my times are all over the place at this track, M mode doesn't consistently yield me better times.. I expected it to, but...

Either way, i'll keep it in mind. Hope to get back to the track again soon if the weather gets nice.
