I usually get 330 if I'm semi-conservative...

250-280 if I'm on it every now and then...

In colder climates gasoline blends are different in the summer & winter. In the winter you need more 'light ends' (lower density components so that greater % of fuel is vapourized in the cold) in order to enable easy starting. As a result winter gasoline contains less power.

Yes it is only 64 liters. I thought it was 75 like my M45..... so to get the 500 miles out of a tank, I'd have to squeeze 35 miles out of each gallon. Not likely, even at a lower speed.

Best was 280 miles during a couple-hour trip. 220-240 is a norm on mine. Really really hate pulling up the gas station frequently

About 190 miles is the best the "F" can do city driving!

I've got a 362 mile trip coming up this week. I've been experimenting with speed/MPG numbers so that I can both trim as much time as I can, and making sure I can make it without stopping (my bladder would be another matter). In addition, I will also be taking these steps:

1. Accelerate in snow mode to inhibit the weight of my foot.
2. Try to get that tank as full as possible during a cool morning fill up.
3. Safely take advantage of neutral coasting
4. Deploy a large sail

Number 4 is least likely to happen. I'll report back with the results.

That's about the same numbers I get on my RX and SC!

on a full tank of gas, and depending on driving conditions i can see this car going about 500 miles on a tank of gas.

i have taken this car to vegas and back 4 times now (240 miles one way) and each time have arrived in vegas with more than a half tank of gas remaining. with gas mileage being about 2.5 mpg better coming home from vegas, a vegas and back trip is possible on a single tank of fuel. on a recent trip up there i kept it on 75 cruise control the entire way and averaged 30.1 mpg. i took just under 8 gallons of fuel after exiting the highway. on the trip home the mileage was 31.7 mpg but with inconsistant speeds. for example from vegas to baker avg speed was 55 mph and gas mileage was over 36 mpg.

in june i took a trip to st george utah about 350 miles from my front door to the hotel and i arrived with about 1/4 tank of fuel left. i averaged about 28 mpg on the trip and average speed was 90 mph.

i would like to try to do a vegas and back trip on a single tank, but i fear of running out of fuel in the middle of the desert, so i havent risked it yet.

You're driving an IS-F? I've never seen north of 30. Ever. My 350 did this, but even the 350 never went 500 miles on a tank. Here's how the 350 did on a cross country trip:

Each of the segments on the spreadsheet were done without any stops, and the date/time groups are actual times. I'd say you have a very unusual IS-F, or an IS250 which is well known for great economy.

I've got faith in you, Archie. Altho it's not much good believing the gas gauge which could be very inaccurate, it's sounds like you've wrung out some outstanding #'s from the F.
I have too, and from my experience, it just means being very careful with the right foot, and one could be very surprised at what this car could do.

LOL, most just go out and have fun, which of course means poor mileage at best. But has anyone had the self control to do a best mileage test on the F?
I'm doubtful since it's not a 'mileage' car-- it's a performance car...

I'd bet this car could do in the 30mpg's (Imperial) range and will certainly be monitoring it as I usually do on my next (and first) long trip.

Stay tuned and certainly keep us updated on your efforts. Some of us are really interested.

Colin.
