Hello,
I'm looking for IS-Fs and noticed this one.
Where are the Brembo Brakes and BBS IS-F 19" wheels on this car? Thanks

This reminds me of the dumbass who made a new 2009 Acura TL Legend and I e-mailed...see below...(I can't find the thread)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-Acura-TL-Tech-SH-AWD-Legend-Edition-BLK-w-UMBER_W0QQitemZ140320600257QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item20abc270c1&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A7|39%3A1|240%3A1318
Good afternoon Francis,

Thanks again for your interest in Crown Acura and our 2009 "Legend" TL. This is a limited edition TL that was specially ordered for a customer whose deal fell through. It is actually a 2009 Acura TL Tech with SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive). It has had some accessories added: custom tint, "Legend" badging, LoJack AnitTheft Recovery System, Custom Painted black Grill and Deck Lid, 19" Wheels and Tires, Acura License Bracket and Headlight Eyebrows. It has the Keyless Access System with smart entry and pushbutton ignition, black with umber interior.

Would you like to see the car for a test drive?

Thanks for the quick reply. So this is a special limited edition
Legend that is back and its a TL too? What does TL stand for? I like
Legend, the Legend was the best. Why did they get rid of the names? I
can't test drive it yet as the tranny on my CL Vigor went out again
but as soon as It's fixed I might drive up. I'm sorry for the
questions but why is the AWD "super-handling"? Does it have extra
wheels or something? How super does it handle?
I can't believe the Legend is back! I've been saving up for the next
Legend and now its a super TL Legend! Thanks!

Hi Francis,

I hate to disappoint you but it's actually not a Legend. It's an 09 Acura TL that has had the "Legend" badging added onto it. Super Handling All-Wheel Drive just means that it's a 3.7 liter 305 horsepower engine and uses all four wheels versus the standard Front Wheel Drivetrain.

Are you in the Greensboro area? What year is your CL Vigor? How many miles do you have on it?

Thanks!
Angela

Actually the super handling feature in Acura's is really a feature. They computer system controls a differential in the rear axle to control the torque sent to the left and right wheels to facilitate sharper cornering (drives the outside a bit more to keep the wheel spinning faster to push through the corner). But as expected from most dealers, they didn't even know that much...

On further thought. They would be smart to remove the Legend badging and the extra Acura badge. I bet it would sell faster than looking like some one's personalized styling abortion...

Francis,

My name is Solomon Curinton, I am the Internet manager here at Pat Fischer Chevrolet -Nissan.

I wanted to let you know your request on the Lexus IS-F was received, and were working on it for you.

We are a hassle free Dealership and to serve you better, Could you answer a few questions ??

1. What exact options and features would you like ?

2.Is there a trade ? If so the year, make, model, trim level, options and exact miles...

3. would you like us to secure financing ? ( we are signed with most lending institutions and credit unions)

4.When would you be able to come in for a test drive ?

Answering these questions will help me with the information to better serve you.

Thank you again for your request and I look forward to your reply or hearing from you.

My reply

Thanks for the reply.
I have my own financing and there is no trade. I've driven the car
before. I'm not really worried about options, they all are pretty much
loaded. I'm trying to figure out where the brakes and wheels on this
IS-F is. If they are not on it I figure there should be a substantial
discount as the brakes and wheels are around 8 grand to replace. They
are part of what makes the IS-F an IS-F!

Well now BMW has it in their new X6 and X5 M cars, where it will truly be used. Also with the BMW system it works with deaccleration and acceleration.

SH-AWD is useless driving around town as the cars are 70/30 up front until slippage is detected. It also can't be exploited b/c they put it in SUVs and cars with average performance.
Great system in the wrong cars!

So it makes me wonder did they purposely take the wheels/tires off and try to sell without them to some unsuspecting person. I would figure an IS-F buyer would notice wheels/tires missing.

LoL Francis!!!

Maybe they were going to try and retro fit everything onto a "Chevrolet or Nissan" @ Pat Fischer Chevrolet - Nissan...

Ask him what he did with the Brembo's??

So Sad!!

I'm pretty sure he's just calling your bluff - meaning, he's got other Fs on the lot he can swap wheels with in 15 mins if you're a serious buyer, so he's saying they are on there because if you're buying, he'll put them on.

As for the brakes and taillights, well - who knows.
