^^^^It seems a bit more stable than the old one. Seems to be a bit bigger. The compass can be turned off. IMO, it goes better with the interior. Also, I think the compass letters are a wee bit smaller. The juries still out on the front push HomeLink buttons vs the bottom push.

I got mine replaced on Tuesday and they installed the same model that I had before (not the one with the Homelink buttons in front). It works fine I guess, a bit more stable.

Ya know, I'm not sure you had it done. You're the first forum member who has reported this, and the TSB has specific PNs that include the mirror assy, a cover, and a new wire. I'd question your dealer as to why the mirror still looked the same.

Scheduled my appt for tomorrow at Newport Lexus in Newport Beach, CA at 7:00 p.m. They ordered the parts a few minutes ago. The parts guy told me they might have them tomorrow for the appt.

I was there when they requested new mirror, wire, and something else (3 things). The mirror is new, I can see that, but it's the same model as the original. At least it works better now.

If you replace the mirror, do you have to reprogram the homelink? I'm not sure where the setttings are stored.

Great info Lou, thanks!

This is completely off topic, but after reading the whole PDF I wonder if the new Torsen LSD could be retro fitted to the 08-09 ISF. I guess there are more things involved, IIRC our current ISF has an ESD which works with the brakes, it'd have to be disabled, right? Also the electronics behind the VSC would need to be updated.

Yes, you have to reprogram. The settings are stored in the mirror's memory.

AFAIK, there is no way to disable the electronic LSD. Updating appears to be quite a bit more problematic than just swapping out the skid control ECU since they've moved it to another location in the car. Not sure what will or won't happen if the mechanical LSD is used with the existing electronic one, but it doesn't sound like a good plan.

I sat there for over 90 minutes and they told me they did not receive
87844-53020 INNER MIRROR WIRE

not installed yet, so I will wait for them to contact me.
