lobuxracer, I read the PDF last nite. Interesting, do you have the rest of the pages? I'd love to read 'em.

I have access to all of it. Seeing this kind of stuff is one of the reasons I just cough up the subscription fees to TIS.

I agree as well I am wondering if the Torsen LSD can be retrofited into the 08-09 IS-F.

^^ The Exhuast tips are on the mufflers..

What you see in the pic is the Quad Exhaust Diffusers put in place for the photo...

They will remain the same, which is Good News!!!

2009 Model IS-F had just about a 6 month production halt...

Very low numbers were made and sold, with currently very few left on dealer lots right now..

You will find some of the high volume dealers with more than a few F's just sitting there.
But those are few & far between.

Some dealers were and/or are rejecting F deliveries..

To my knowledge, the 2010 Model IS-F is slated to be a "Special Order Only" in the coming months..

Which means unless the dealership decides to order a few, there won't be waves of them sitting in dealer inventory.

Nice work Lance!!!

I too am interested in finding more info on the Torsen LSD and compatabilty with the current 08-09 F's...

This change below seems VERY interesting..
Seems they want to TRACK these DTCs more than in the past???

4. 2UR-GSE Engine
  • The ECM software has been modified in accordance with the adoption of permanent Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

  • Permanent DTCs are used for DTCs associated with the illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp(MIL). Permanent DTCs can not be cleared by using the Techstream. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

^ I couldn't find any info on this change???

I truly hope it does not interfere with the possibility of the Torsen LSD swap...

Yeah the permanent DTC thing is interesting. Not sure if it's a new Federal requirement (maybe) or if it's to prevent unauthorized changes setting codes and having the codes cleared so someone can make warranty claims. I suspect it's Federal law, but I'll need to check with someone I know in Compliance before I commit to saying it's the Feds.

I'm spooked about the Torsen being a safe retrofit. I still want to do it, but it would really suck rocks if the electronic unit interferes with the mechanical one.

That’s what I was thinking on the warranty stuff for the IS-F and how expensive it can quickly get if these engines start to "Go Boom" after someone has tinkered with them..

If it were Federal Law, I would suspect the 2010 IS-C would carry the same new change feature on the ECM software.

Well I told you the story about retro fitting of an IS350 differential into an IS-F.. All information can back that it worked fine.. Granted the IS350 also did not have a true LSD, apparently it still worked...

Thanks Joe. Is the only difference that blue at the bottom?

IMO, that looks awful.

No problem...

Looks to be a "spin off" of the Terra Cotta interior styling that was a special order option for the 2009 IS-F..
