Looks great and makes the car appear a bit more slick imo
i will do your fender lights if u do my chrome!

Use Plastidip.. Just tape off a section around your emblems and spray 4 light coats waiting 15 to 20 minutes between each coat. The extra space you spray outside the emblem is important as you can peel it right off while leaving the emblems intact. Use a toothpick to scrape out spaces inside the emblem. The finished product will be matte black emblems! By the way Plastidip can be found in your local Home Depot.

Has anyone tried this on the chrome trim? I have used plastidip a fair bit when I had my camaro and it worked perfectly to blackout panels on the trunk in addition to blacking out the emblems. curious if it will have any problems staying on the chrome trim. I might just have to go try it myself and report back.

Yea, there are a few threads on here about plasti dip, both for the chrome window trim as well as the emblems. Or YouTube will show you a bunch of examples as well, including some IS250's. I myself will be using this Mini Cooper tape on the window trim and plasti dip on my emblems.

I'll post pictures when it's all done next week.

I'd imagine it'd work fine, just the overspray might be hard to control.. plus a ton of taping. Theres local shops by me that professionally put the 3m tape on very cleanly. Thats what I am considering because the tape didn't come out perfect for me when I tried twice at home.

I just helped my buddy plasti-dip his bumpers and grill on his FJ cruiser.. Huge sections of painted plastic he covered and its held up great this last month. My chrome grill has last 1.5 years with plasti-dip, so I don't think holding on to the chrome would be a problem!

Sub'd interested to see how difficult it is to apply the tape to the trim edges
