I seriously doubt there will be a strong aftermarket for the ISF. Its been a year and a half now since release in the states and we honestly have 1 maybe 2 exhaust options, 1 maybe 2 intake options and a ECU tuning option that didnt work. All this makes me wonder if there really is any room left on the ISF for much more power. Other than intake, exhaust, ECU, and maybe headers we would be lucky to get 40-60 rwhp out of the ISF and the aftermarket knows this along with the expense of development and limited number of cars and limited number of people wanting to make that jump to get that little power possible, they along with I just dont see it. If this car was boosted from the factory it would be a different story but even with the ability to slap on turbos or maybe a supercharger the ISF engine really isnt built or initially designed for it and would require a ton of tuning and possibly engine internals to really make it worth it along with transmission mods(IMO only someone with deeeeep pockets could make it work). Honestly the ISF might need a bit more hp but if it was alot of power it would upset the balance of this car and make it something the ISF wasnt meant to be. The ISF is no toyota supra and toyota hasnt released a car with its tuning ability/ potential since.
I highly doubt 60whp from those mods as the stock headers are pretty good and our primary stock cats are already high flowing. I was told by a lexus technician about the cats being high flow but who knows if they are or not.
Anyhow the ISF engine reminds me of a Honda S2000/Acura type R engine as they are already tweeked from factory so you won't gain much out of simple bolt on mods. My old S2000 bolt on mods I did intake/header/headerback exhaust/throttle body and ECU tune and I only managed to squeeze 30 whp midrange and 20whp peak. So I would assume from a tweeked factory engine it would probabely produce similair gains with the ISF.
I was also told by another car modding shop owner who tried making custom headers for a IS350 which they said it lost hp comparing to stock and they did lots of R&D to try and make it right but failed. To the ISF's conclusion, unless a proper standalone system or EMS is made for our car then longtube headers/intake/exhaust and proper tune might come close but there isn't any EMS that succeeded in hacking the ISF's ecu. If there was it would of came out long time ago...

Has any contacted Megan Racing since there have already have headers for the IS250/350. I would consider headers for a resonable price hopefully under $1500.

yes that would be the one....my point was it can be done. i said nothing about tuning but if lexus wanted its an option and they could provide the tune. (and it would not be anywhere near the 20grand the guy above said).

Another company JE Import Performance out of Maryland according to the LexusF.com thread is developing headers for the F. I have no experience with these guys. I guess we will wait and see what happens.
