First off, this is not the thread to bash on the F. I really enjoyed my F. I'm just fickle.
About 3 weeks ago I sold my 2008 IS-F. I have owned the car since early this year and put about 6k miles on it. I never had one issue with the car except for a vibrating rearview mirror. All in all the F is a fantastic car that I would have no problem owning again.
Today I am stepping over to the dark side. I have a 1:15 appointment to complete my order for a 2010 E90 M3. I have had a desire to own a M car since I was in high school in the early 90s and a close friend had a '88 M3. That car always put a smile on my face. Now I will see for myself if the M car can live up to the hype. I'm going to go with the DCT transmission. The early units have had some issues, but supposedly they have gotten most of the bugs worked out. I sure hope so.
I have enjoyed learning about the F from the knowledge base here. I plan to stop in regularly and let you guys know how the Bimmer stacks up to the F in my opinion.

Welcome to the Dark Side! I went over in `06, and now own an `08 M6. You're stepping into a very sexy car in my opinion. I was at my dealer 2 weeks ago checking out the new 7 and spent some time in their M showroom where they had 3 M3s on display - all, all black. Very seductive; I couldn't take my eyes off them. I'll be interested in reading your impressions of the M3. Also, you may want to check out "www.bimmerfest.com", for topics related to your BMW.

Congrats! Hopefully you can find some more time to put more than 6k miles on the M over a few years. Enjoy it while you can! I like the E90 myself. Post some pics when you get a chance.

Its funny you say that because one of the things that has turned me off about bimmers in the past is the douchebag factor.

i love the white m3! would definitely be my color choice too. i'm tempted to drive one too, but afraid i'll then buy it. trying to slow down the car purchases as i've been through about 10 cars in the past 3 years. but i do like their look and don't think i'll buy another 4 door. just don't need the extra room as 90% of the time it's only me in the car. seems wasteful.

Just wondering how come you didn't get the M in the first place? Anyways, congrats!
I'm wondering if there are any F owners that are coming from an M3? I'm guessing it's less likely because usually the M3 is leased.
