I also agree with some people here about the gas. there are reasons for being cheap.. i've personally never seen nice cars pull up into arco to get the gas either...

Hmmm. My Supra ran Arco until Tosco killed premium in California, then I had to run 76 because I could put 100 octane in at one pump and then fill the rest of the way with 91. I ran Arco in anything I owned needing regular (a couple of Scions), and I ran Arco in my IS350 until I got my Shell MC and could get Shell with a discount for the same price as Arco.

Sorry to say, but gasoline is really a commodity.

If I can afford an IS-F, I'm sure as hell can shed $3-4 more for branded gas like Chevron for peace of mind.

What's with the pretentious atitude lexus owners have about their cars, especially an IS? Seriously, it's just an IS...I should know, I have one. IS owners may appreciate their cars more so than a BMW owner, but there's so many remarks on this forum that an IS owner shouldn't use this product because it's cheap, or doing such a thing would be beneath them because it's not expensive enough for a lexus. It gives off a bad prude vibe. It's JUST a lexus. A fully loaded honda accord costs more than a IS250. (I know I'm going get flak for that last remark) LOL!!!

its not because its lexus. i try take care of my car so i spend lil more dollars on gas for the future so i spend less money to repair for any damage that could possibly effect the engine by putting cheaper gas in. May be all the fuels are same but i still believe that there are reasons that branded gas cost lil more. If you fill up 2 times a week its really like $20 different every month... Just my thoughts...

I feel the exact same way.

I treat my Lexus like it's my 14 month year old.

I really dont see anything wrong with pumping costco gas. My friend has been pumping costco gas on his S4 for years and have no problems what so ever. I been pumping costco gas on my is350 once in a while and don't notice any change in MPG or performance..

fuel is really all the same some retailers fill tanks more often which in turn cost more, etc. no water in ur gas then or less likely! some fuels have higher octanes even if it says 87 it may be lower. things like this will not happen at large gas chains Shell, exxon etc.

i think costco has pretty good gas. The only gas I am scared of is ARCO ... i heard a story of someone filling a portable container full of gas from there, and apparently it was watered down with something ... ... im not sure how true this story is so don't take my word for it

How would some small gas chain buy gas with less than 87 octane? What refiner produces <87 octane? I work in the industry and don't know of any.

If some station sold <87, but claimed it was more, it would be constantly fending off legal claims.

I'm not sure what the source of your info is, but it's quite dubious.

You are correct in saying that a station that sells more fuel is less likely to have any water accumulate.
