I remember reading this post last month, then here I am. Bought an ISF and in texas the seller takes the plates, so I had no plates.
Went to park downtown Austin texas where I bought it and you have to buy parking based on ur license plate number, which I had none.
All I could think of was this post, and how if I just hide the VIN I can park for free for a bit longer anywhere lmao

cant ticket the car if you cant ID the car

The point of locking win# is to hide it from hackers who can get radio code for remote door or start engine from hacked manufacturers database or by installing Lexus app on the smart phone. in your case police can just taw your car away

A hidden vin is generally believed to be a stolen car. In Oregon, Vins should be readable. If it’s not, the police can tow it for investigation. If hiding a vin was so bad, we wouldn’t see it on Craigslist and other forsale apps....

LOL! I know you're joking but if a parking attendant's primary job is to enforce parking, what makes anyone think that they'd be like, uh oh can't ticket them and can't tow them, gonna let them park fo free!!!!!

Again I know you're joking but who knows if someone might've read your comment then actually try it out just to get pwned. 🤣

And then there's the damage done by towing...

Simple just use a pay for parking stub and cover it up from inside.
