Old thread, new update. Yes indeed the 89904-50642 key works in my July 08 production ISF. The 89904-50480 did not work at all. If the key beeps when you put it next to the ignition switch but does not register when you put it on the passenger's seat, the battery is likely dead. At least mine was.

Now the hard question - has anyone paired their card key to the seat position memory settings? I know you do this with the unlock button on the regular fob, but since there is no unlock button on the card key, is it even possible to pair the card key to the seat position? I tried using the procedure for the GSF, but no dice. Definitely does not work by pressing the lock/unlock button on the door.

Called Sewell Lexus about using the card key in my 2008 IS F. Parts guy was very helpful and the 89904-50642 is the correct part number for '08 ISF.
Then he said the first three digits of my VIN are JHT and would not work because it was built in Japan???? Aren't all ISF's made in Japan?.....anyone confirm this?

If you look up my July production '08 in EPC it will say there is no credit card key available for it. As you can see from this thread, it does indeed work fine with my car. It's the only key I use now. I loaned my button key to my father-in-law when he was visiting at Thanksgiving and had to replace the battery - I haven't used it for that long!

My manufacture date is December of '07 in Tahara, Japan.

All Lexus IS Fs were built in Tahara, and your VIN starts with JTH, not JHT.

I absolutely love my credit card key as well. The only minor nuisance is that there's no touch sensor on the rear door handles of the ISF, so I have at least one additional step to get into the rear doors - either touch the passenger front door handle or open the driver's door and use the inside unlock switch.

you can have the dealer customize your door handle sensor so that the driver side will also unlock all doors if you want. Just FYI.

Correct. That's how I have mine. Makes things slightly easier.

You don't need the dealer to do this at least not on my MY12 car. How to, is in the owners manual. Did it myself.

Works on '08 too. I didn't need Techstream to get all four doors to unlock.

GS F does have all four handles able to unlock. Wish the IS F did too.

Sorry, I should've stated that I was aware of the option to always open all doors. I don't want to enable that option, though.

It's just a minor nuisance - mostly because I'm so used to the operation of my wife's '07 ES350 (which has the sensors on all four doors).

Thanks for pointing that out in case others weren't aware.

Thanks for all the help, I was finally able to find one on eBay that actually states that it works for '08 IS F. Ordered it yesterday....I'll let everyone know my results when it comes in.

Well new credit card smart key arrived yesterday. No joy so far. It will not register to my car.

There is one number difference on the back of the key...

HYQ14AAB
1551A-14AAB

HYQ14ABB
1551A-14ABB

Any ideas?

I looked at the eBay link you bought from and it's showing the part # as 89904-50480. This thread actually states #50480 will not work with 08 ISF's and you would actually need 89904-50642.

Also, my '11 card with F logo shows 14ABB.
