Lexus Quality my ***! Mirrors broken! - not really :p
So yesterday I noticed my side mirrors weren't turning down when I reverse. I tried it a couple times. A neighbor was watching me go forward, go reverse, go forward, go reverse ad nauseum. He must have thought I was an idiot, I saw him shaking his head.
I tried later in the day too, same problem.
I was going to post a question here but this morning I realized if the mirror adjustment control is in the middle, the mirrors won't adjust themselves.
So it's all working!
Lexus rocks. 13,000+ miles and only $140 spent on the 10k service check.
(not counting a new tire after puncture)
I tried later in the day too, same problem.

Watching what you do is too hard for him to figure out.

Every time I get home I have to get out and fold in the mirror manually to clear the garage door side trim......(2 cars in a tight garage.)
Not one of Toyota's better ideas to trim that function.

A small price to pay for such a great ride tho.....

that's because most developed countries in those regions have narrow and crowded streets. side mirrors are often hit while parked on street. very rare problem in this country.

In Europe and Japan space is often very limited in urban environments. Luckily we don't have that overcrowding problem here in North America, at least not yet. There's a reason why the cars are so small there, and it's not just because of the fuel prices.
