Default K&N Intake - Hot Air in Cabin

Hey guys I had the K&N intake installed on the F and had it on for about a week. What I've noticed is that there's hot air going into the cabin from under the dash. Can anyone give some insight on this issue? I've checked everything for any air leaks on the intake and there doesn't seem to be any. Btw I also have the vents closed. Much help is appreciated.

Does it happen when you drive hard?

I get warm air on occasion, more whenever I drive hard, especially if the windows are open. Like you, I double checked climate control to make sure the blend doors are not set to let outside air to pass over the heater core. But many cars let some get by, depending on design. I think my car allows too much, and when piping hot coolant makes it to the core, I'm suddenly flushed with warmth. And it has to be Bernoulli at work as I'm seeing no reason to believe the blower is suddenly self-activating.

I was told this was normal. It happens so infrequently that I didn't feel like making a case out of it. If it pisses me off at the track I may change my thinking.

Yeah it does happen a lot more frequent when driving hard and windows are down. It is very irritating having the warm air blowing up to you from below.

Umm, the K and N intake has nothing to do with hot air coming in from under your dash. Its an intake for your engine, not an intake for your Heating and AC... Omg, maybe you should pour some engine coolant into the intake to cool it down, that way the hot air wont go inside your car.... LOL JK..

Well lets see. With the stock air box there wasn't any hot air coming up into the cabin, but after installing the intake in it happens. So it lead to the conclusion that it had something to do with the intake. In addition there was no need for the last remark.
