Greetings and a good, long weekend to those of us who are celebrating a holiday! Does anyone know if Brembo offers an optional compound (less dusting, etc.) for the brakes on our "F"s? In lieu of that, can anyone recommend a ceramic brake pad from someone like Carbotech, Hawk, etc., that is very low dusting and non-corrosive as well? Thanks in advance!

Currently Brembo does NOT have and/or offer ANY "Alternative" brake pads for the OEM Lexus IS-F Brembo calipers...
Just the OEM Lexus High Friction "dusty" ones, made by Brembo naturally...

Yes that is sad that Brembo chooses not to support the IS-F from an aftermarket perspective. I was at the local Lexus dealer yesterday having several things looked at including: pitting front wheels, emergency brake that wouldn't hold and a vibrating rearview mirror and we were able to fix only one, the emergency brake not holding. They couldn't find the vibrating mirror issue and the person I was talking to the wheels about said it was only "brake dust" even though we couldn't remove the rough feeling via any method available to us. The parts person went to the back and got a new rotor and pad combination and the OEM pads were clearly marked Brembo as was the rotor. He also said the "F-Sports" brake upgrade might be something to consider but I think Brembo is an upgrade in and of itself. Cheers!

1. Front wheels aren't pitting, as has been said, it's brake dust that needs to be cleaned often.
2. There is a TSIB for the vibrating rearview mirror. Do a search and you'll find it. You need to give your dealer the TSIB number if you want your mirror replaced with the updated one that is used in '10 models.
3. There are many threads on this forum with other options for front brake pads, including low dusting ceramic. Again, do a search.

I believe we should wait and see if F sport brake parts do come out to rectify the problem.
I was considering ceramic brakes, but having tested them in a Porsche, i am of the opinion that it wouldn't be a good idea, because Malaysia rains so much and i always feel as though the ceramic brakes do not stop the car as well as traditional steel ones. But if brake dusts are the issue.. then yes ceramic brakes are the way to go.
