Default Windshield crack

Well, driving along with my wife today, a tractor trailer coming toward us tossed up a stone- and i heard that "Smack" we all dread..

At first glance, i thought it just bounced off... but after about a minute, a crack started from the top of the glass directly in front of the passenger, then down and across beneath the rearview mirror

I have an appointment next week for the mirror to be replaced under the TSB, now i get a windshield install at the same time..

Anyone else had to have any glass replaced yet? I am pushing for OEM glass-
i was told the aftermarket is $339, while Lexus charges $1699!

From what I was told during the time I had my windshield replaced in my F, there was no aftermarket company that made a replacement glass due to the rain sensor. Lexus glass was opted on my car through my insurance company. The price of the glass ordered through the local Lexus dealer was roughly $1300 plus the windshield mouldings. After labor it was roughly $1500.

Just for reference...

Lexus OEM (AGC Corp) Glass MSRP is through L-Tunedparts.com (Carson Toyota): $943.16 or $782.82 their price.

Thanks. I do have full glass coverage, and i believe the option for new oem parts with my policy.
Still sucks that it happened, though

It does suck but things like that happen. That's what the insurance is for. Good luck.

Good luck with the glass. My experience with my SC-400 and GS-300 was that, even with Lexus glass and Lexus installation, the cars was never looked the same again.

I had Lexus glass put on my IS-F (Turtle Wax scratched it) and it looks just fine. They wanted to put on non-lexus glass but I was afraid it would lower the resale value so I insisted on Lexus glass and and they paid for it.

I recall the price being around $1399, before they applied a 10% discount.

I wonder if some of you guys are too ****!
I pay about 275$ for glass, I go to the same Haji for all our cars
The only problem I've had so far was a chittering sound -- because I left the blue tape on one time

Had to replace my windshield due to stone chip...went with non factory with the rain sensor...works fine at 1/5 the cost. Only issue was they had to replace the glass several times because of air noises (obviously not set right). Frankly on a F, no one is looking at the windshield

Had a message when i got home from work, Liberty is paying for the oem Lexus glass, and my replacement mirror (under the TSB) is in, so i'll get it all done on Tuesday.

On a side note, i parked the F for now, and got out my 06 Mustang GT 'vert....I miss my F already!!
