I don't want to brag about it as it was quite foolish and dangerous now that I think back on it, I did Montreal-Quebec City in about an hour at a steady 180 km/h (100 mph) from basically the South Shore in Montreal to the Lévis bridge in Québec City. The F felt smooth and never out of breath. I felt like I could drive at that speed for days. It felt very steady and planted.

Evos are awesome! They are ultimate tuning cars, just like the STi and the Z. It's hard to compare those tuning cars to the F because they are so different. I might be wrong, but I don't think any owners here cross-shopped the F with the Evo...? It all depends on your priorities.
That's actually a very good point! When they used to be around 30k, it's a great bang for the buck. In that sense, I'm glad that Nissan kept the base 370Z around that price point. But when you creep into 40k territory, now you are looking at a 335i... and that's TOUGH competition.
Oh, by the way, the evo's are not cheap anymore!!! they can easily hit $40k+ without blinking. Thats another thing to consider.... Evo use to be aorund $32k which in my opinion is a relatively fair price, still steep when coming up from a $16k civic, but they are now $40k+ for a loaded one, thats bringing the evo into a whole new territory, price wise.. For a "fun" car I would choose the Mazda3speed cause its still $20k and change for a new one.....

I personally like the looks of the F over the M3 sedan. Had a coupe been a consideration the M3 is tough to beat. There isn't a bad car between the M3/C63/RS4/F, regardless of what the fanbois say.

Sold my modded WRX and Evo IX to get into my F. Just felt uncomfortable meeting with clients or potential clients in those cars. They are a lot of fun to work on and get power out of, both were faster than my F but nowhere near as refined.
If I had the space and $$, I'd have kept all 3. Insurance for the WRX and Evo added up to what I'm currently paying for the F alone.

Get back to me in 30-40k miles, if not sooner?
I agree also. Of course, the F suspension is far superior for driving than any BMW has to offer. Soft springs + high dampers = lose .
But there's no way an Evo X is 40k... not with the economy and the surplus of Evos on dealer lots. A friend of mine has been hemming and hawing about buying one and recently visited a dealership in Vegas, which offered below invoice. At that price, you could be out the door and do reflash, intake, exhaust for less than 40k, not even talking about haggling futher.

IMO
Evo: The most tuner friendly and best handling of the bunch. But raw in comparison when it comes to luxury.
M3: In between Evo and ISF. Also good handling more luxury than the Evo (obviously), does everything well. Too pricey with the options though and I personally do not think it would last 5 to 6 years with the DCT tranny. When warranty is up good luck$$. Awesome car non the less!
Both these cars suck on gas though hahaha.
IS-F: Good balance of power and luxury. Does everything good just not as good as the M3 in some areas. Good gas mileage for what is under the hood (no gas guzzler tax) which was a big selling point to me. Love the interior and comes with alot of things standard as opposed to the M3. Better commuter car IMO which was important to me as well.
All these cars offer different things for different buyers and there is no WRONG choice as I would be happy with either one of these!
These are my opinions BTW so take them for what they are worth.

I wouldn't say so. GTR is like entering the 'super car' territory, also the price range is nowhere near the latter 3 (F, M3 or Evo)
All three cars have their goods and bads, I personally do not think you can compare an Evo to an F, or an F to an Evo, their just not the same class, and were not meant to compete with each other. They cater to different buyers. All are very fun cars to drive, but I haven't done so personally
