Yes, I would recommend that first. If you continue to have problems and the pads and shims are installed correctly, then scuff the rotors with garnet paper and try again. If they still won't brake smoothly, then grind them.

Good info, thanks. My stock pads and rotors seem to be braking pretty smoothly without any pulsation on the brake pedal. So when I replace the pads, I'll do just that. Thanks..Darshana S...

Update on the front rotor rust ring. It will eventually go away. Mine did.

Still have the brake noise, driving me crazy. How can I tell if its the rotors warped and making the noise? Also my rear pads are still over dusting, do we have any dust free options for rear pads yet?

found these EBC yellowstuff fronts for $169.29, I might give them a shot! Does anyone know how much labor should be for these? I'm not a do it yourselfer and I'm thinking any brake shop could do it in about an hour

tried bedding them in...worked for a few days then squeal came back...
finally a few months ago I installed the Carbotech Bobcats myself without changing or cutting rotors and the squeal is gone (and the dust!!)
Yes I replaced my pads with Carbotech Bobcats a couple of weeks ago and am quite happy. No more corrosive dust to damage the wheels, no more low speed grown, same feel (IMHO) as the OEM brake pads, no rust rings anywhere so I am completely happy with the results.

Really? Do they make rear pads for the IS-F yet?

I'm going to purchase a set of rear pads from them then because i'm almost positive my rear OEM's ones are done and causing crazy dust because of it.

As lobux stated they do make front and rear. They don't stock the Lexus backing plates but have the ability to cut them with a laser cutter. From what I understand, the only difference is they don't have they don't replicate the wear indicator that squeals when the pads are low.

wait, you have to cut something? cant you just reuse the stock backing plates? to the bobcats. i was about to get the feredo pads but now it seems like people like the bobcats. I need to get a set soon cause my fronts are low, with only 6,500 miles on the clock, retarted stock pads. Where did you guys get your bobcats? and how much they run with shipping and tax?

Absolutely they can re-use your original backing plates..... if you can afford the downtime to pull your car out of service, send the OEM pads to Carbotech, have them reline the pads and then ship them back to you. I chose not to have the car out of service for that length of time. If you have an old set of OEMs go for it!
