I tried searching but couldn't find anything on this, but does anyone notice this weird electronic noise coming from the center stack once in awhile? I usually hear it briefly after I start the car, but I also hear it while driving sometimes.
The sound is hard to describe, and this is gonna sound funny, but it's almost like a croaking sound, like a frog.. lol. It does it a couple of times, and then it stops. Maybe it's the sound of the cd changer initializing? But it happens even when I have the audio off. Any ideas?

Noise from the steering column is usually the steering wheel lock. They're all noisy, and they get worse over time. Lexus will do nothing to address the noise. AMHIK.

Since you hear the noise when driving - That's whY I think it's the air recirculate flaps closing. It can't be the cd player startng up, since that happens only when you start the car/turn it on. (the car changes air from ouside to recirculate when it detects smog/dirty air)

Ok, so I can tell u more on this as I see, and have "expierence".
If u are talking about the same sound, here is my story:
Sound is coming, somewhre from center console, and after already 2-3 months on this problem, I know it is comming from ventilation heater thing.
When it is making sound: It is making sound, when you change ventilation blowing from windshield to any different way, like "only to legs" or face and legs, but not through windshield ventilation. If changing this mode makes the sound, it comes from heater.
Story: I had already one heater replaced, and after several months, sound appeared again. Dealer, now tried to grease stuff that is making sound in it, and will wait and see for how long it helps.
P.S. Changing heater, is not very nice job, as dealer has to take all the panel and out of the car...
