I'll add a few more things pros/cons for both cars:

BMW M3 positives:
1) Faster car on the track no doubt
2) ///M car race car heritage
3) Factory covered scheduled maintenance included
4) More aggresive overall look

IS-F positives:
1) Better gas mileage
2) Interior fit/finish is far superior no arguement there
3) Best looking 4-door to 4-door comparison (m3 coupe is sexy though)
4) Lexus unbeatable service department and reliability
5) Mark Levinson audio is awesome!

I'll leave you with this picture, how can you now like seeing this mean front end in your rearview mirror!

i think i speak for almost everyone when i say i see M3's everyday, as a matter of fact i've seen more ferrari's than F's on the road...

I'm not convinced this is really a positive. The isn't the cost difference on a comparably equipped M3 is way higher than the 7 oil changes, 1-2 brake pad replacement, and 1-2 windshield wipers you have to pay for on the F over 4 years?

It also means free top offs and other sweet things you don't have to pay for, these high performance cars apparently burn oil rather quickly, I can just go to the BMW dealer and have them top me off for free and be out in 15minutes, while they wouldn't do that for me at the Lexus dealer

This is a lexus forum... your just gonna get the same responses like when I tried to comepare a IS-F to a G8 GXP. I like the M3 because you can tell the M3 is an M3, most ISx50 owners put IS-F tailights on there cars and to me thats a fail The M3 is not made to be a luxury cruiser just like the ZR1. I dont need a navi or anything like that my Garmin is perfectly adequate, i dont need a mark levinson stereo, the stereo in my camry is more then enough for me.... IS-F's have also not have sold well in my area... havent seen one on the road yet and the one in my local lexus dealership has been sitting there for ages. If they had made the IS-F coupe first maybe I would consider, but looking at the worthless backseat, the ISx50 styling, just makes me want to buy an M3. Hope I dont get blasted....

What would you get blasted for?

It's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about.

yeah, hes talking shiet again, like a 328 dont look like a M3.. hes probably gonna reply, no the M3 has different fenders and wheels and the hood bulges more, Umm like the F and the 350 is not the same.... I like how he compares the ML system with the system in his camry too. he might as well compare the battery in the F with his Echo too, might be the same...

oh my god, this guy always comes here promoting that pontiac (despite having a F avatar), now on a M3 vs. F thread, when he drives an old RX. it's like one of us without an SUV arguing that the gmc yukon is the sheit on a X5 vs. RX on a thread.

sales? my local BMW and LEXUS dealer has no new M's (any M's) or new F's (respectively). but there ARE used M3's and NO used F's! M3 (all styles) outsell F's terribly. so does a corolla, who cares. the point is, it's hard to find too many of either one.

and no one needs a ML stereo, 416HP, or even an overpriced RX compared to the higher HP/lower priced MDX.

OP, why haven't you posted the same question on M3post.com or did I miss it? IMO, it's your money and your wants you're trying to satisfy - choose the one you know will serve it better. You can't go wrong with either car anyways!

That being said, the scheduled factory maintenance is performed every 15,000 km or 12 months and does not cover wear-and-tear items such as the clutch(es) in both the manual and DCT transmission. In short, it only covers oil and other fluids, most of which typically will only need to be changed once the scheduled maintenance program has expired.

To say that it would not look imposing in a rear-view mirror is rubbish.

How is a car "imposing"??? Some people can be imposing but saying a car looks "imposing" in your rearview mirror makes no sense

One time I saw a Viper Hennessey Venom in my rear-view mirror and I was so scared, I almost shat my pants. Cars can look 'imposing.' A Viper definitely looks imposing... and IS F has an aggressive style that is definitely 'imposing.'

We must be pretty different because a car does not look imposing to me at all.. What made you "shat" your pants? The Viper's imposing headlights and curves??

The humongous vents on the hood, the smell of fuel you get when around such a high-powered automobile, and the snarl of the 1000hp, Garett twin-turbocharged V10.
