Default someone w/ K&N pls bail me out!!!

So, I took my car in for an oil change today and they informed me that the two metal clips that hold the air filter box together were missing upon arrival. Of course, it has only been serviced at lexus, that I know of (I bought it w/ 1600 miles on it CPO).
Anyways, to make a long story short, those clips come as part of the greater airbox assembly and can't be ordered separately. I'm wary of running the car w/ a 1/2 inch opening at the top of the air filter box as it doesn't seal correctly and will take in more dust than it should be.

No salvage places in town have a wrecked IS-F (imagine that).

Anyone here have a two spare clips they want to sell me?

Did you look on other Lexus/Toyota models? Toyota is usually pretty good about using similar pieces in their cars.

Exclamation

IF you haven't messed with the intake box assembly...

This should be covered under your warranty easily !!

I'm curious, why, in the title of this thread, are you mentioning K&N? Your problem seems to have nothing to do with K&N. Also, I believe these spring clips are a standard item. The ones in my wife's ES look very much like the ones in my F.

Did you ever tamper with the Airbox??

If NO, I would press for a warranty repair / replacement.

Wouldn't that be easier??

Yeah I'm working on it. I've never touched anything on my car; it's bone stock save the aftermarket alarm.
