So, I took my car in for an oil change today and they informed me that the two metal clips that hold the air filter box together were missing upon arrival. Of course, it has only been serviced at lexus, that I know of (I bought it w/ 1600 miles on it CPO).
Anyways, to make a long story short, those clips come as part of the greater airbox assembly and can't be ordered separately. I'm wary of running the car w/ a 1/2 inch opening at the top of the air filter box as it doesn't seal correctly and will take in more dust than it should be.
No salvage places in town have a wrecked IS-F (imagine that).
Anyone here have a two spare clips they want to sell me?
I'm curious, why, in the title of this thread, are you mentioning K&N? Your problem seems to have nothing to do with K&N. Also, I believe these spring clips are a standard item. The ones in my wife's ES look very much like the ones in my F.
i assume he calls out k&n owners because they would have these parts as they aren't reused by the k&n. i have these parts but i keep all my stock parts in case i want or need to reinstall them.

Bingo. Just figured someone would have them laying around.
