Very True Ryan!!!
But I don't think we will see that $5k incentive on any left over NEW 2009 IS-F's..
Number of 09' Fs on the ground right now are minuscule in comparison to number of 08' Fs on the ground, this time last year..
I think 09 production was halted for a good 4-6 months for the F.
Also, we entered into our current recession right around the IS-F USA Release..
End of 07' / Beginning of 08'

Joe Z

Yup. The F launched, and then 6 months later the economy took the dump. Very bad timing. The leftover 08s were def. a steal earlier this year. But then again you are also buying a new "old" model, so even tho you have a new car, it's not immune to the same depreciation. There is a tradeoff.

I haven't seen any $50k (plus Tax, Title & Lic fees) deals on any new 09's with Nav & ML pkg (yet)
Dealer Invoice on a 2009 with Nav & ML, Wheel Locks, Cargo Net & Cargo Mat is: $55,400
with an MSRP of $61,855

all i have to say on this is hahaha
no way its that much, not even in canadian especially usd
and there is no way that lexus would allow this in all there pricing schemes to protect depreciation
if i priced mine out and sold it now at 10000 km i would prob loose 7 to 10 max
and fbto i can not believe u sold it!
I was gonna see ya at the track

Just because you "haven't seen" this price doesn't mean it's not there. Like I said, I've already been personally offered this price, although it is not inclusive of TT&L (I assumed we were talking about vehicle price since TT&L has nothing to do with depreciation & value). There's also plenty of members here who have scored IS-F's for ~$50K (before TT&L).

I was just waiting for a member to post this. I too have read the article and was surprised to read that the "F" took a 20K hit.
For all the reasons that many members have posted are valid and contributed to the rapid depreciation value of the car.....I'll agree with.
They say, new car value depreciation in the fist year is @ 20%!!!!!!!! Yowza. For those that paid 50 to 60K for the car, taking a 10 to 12K depreciation in the first year is hard. But if the figures are correct and indeed it is a 20K loss, assuming average cost of the car is 60K, that works out to be a 33% loss in the first year, an additional 13% loss....ouch.

This is only true if you paid MSRP for the car. Am I surprised? Not really. Purchasing a new car is never a good move financially by any means. Personally, getting the IS-F or any other car in this price range is "a want". So I'd say just enjoy the car.
On the side note, it's not impossible to get a new IS-F close to 50K. I got mine well below invoice.
