Why did the IS-F depreciate 20k

But see you got it with help and you put money down, correct? I'm pretty sure if you walked up to any dealership, they are not going to just offer just $50k for a new 2009 IS F. Plain and simple.

Hi Joe!
Just because you "haven't seen" this price doesn't mean it's not there. Like I said, I've already been personally offered this price, although it is not inclusive of TT&L (I assumed we were talking about vehicle price since TT&L has nothing to do with depreciation & value). There's also plenty of members here who have scored IS-F's for ~$50K (before TT&L).

There were plenty of members who scored $50k but there were several factors into how they got it down to that price. The most likely causes are:
1) Down payment
2) Trade in equity
3) 2008 model year cars had factory to dealer incentives (some dealers shared the incentive to the buyer hence the sub $50k deals before TTL).
4) Friends working at dealer (connections).
I call BS on getting offered a new 2009 IS F at $50k. Chances are there are some hidden factors most people don't want to admit, disclose(see list of reasons above) or they just want to brag and show off. There is no factory to dealer incentives on the 2009 IS F like there was for the 08 at this time.
Dealerships are in the business to make money, not give car deals away at their cost or below. Not everyone is going to disclose the deal they got or how they arrived to it.
I hate for this thread to be a "Oh I saw this on CL and people are getting $50k for a new ISF", but come home disappointed when the dealership laughs and tells them no way.

Ryan, I'm not sure how you can buy a car without putting down some money - you have to pay for it after all...
I'm not saying EVERYONE can get a new IS-F at ANY dealer, but the fact of the matter is that many, many people are buying new IS-F's in the very low 50's, regardless of who they know, what they're trading in, or how much money they put down. I got offered that price after the incentives were over, and I wasn't even shopping for an F!

There's one around here that has been up for sale since February (and hasn't sold yet). When it first went on sale it was $57,900 and now it's down to $52,900 and the owner is including a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. It has nav and ML, and the nice alpine white interior... iirc, when I bought my F back in June of last year, it cost me a little under $70,000 for that combo.

I've done a lot of my own research on cost and weighed out the plusses and minuses when I was shopping for my IS F. Fact of the matter is, unless there is an actual disclosure of a $50k IS F deal with numbers and figures to back the claims up, no one can say they can get that deal by just walking up to any Lexus dealer. And there's no way in hell a dealer is just going to throw erroneous numbers at you unless you're actually shopping for an IS F or have purchased one.
BTW, which dealer were you offered this?

But from where and by who and what point of time was this? Not counting Longo or Glendale and units that are aging (over 60 days), demo vehicle, dealer trade or cars with mileage over 10 on the odo.

Very True Ryan!!!
But I don't think we will see that $5k incentive on any left over NEW 2009 IS-F's..
Number of 09' Fs on the ground right now are minuscule in comparison to number of 08' Fs on the ground, this time last year..
I think 09 production was halted for a good 4-6 months for the F.
Also, we entered into our current recession right around the IS-F USA Release..
End of 07' / Beginning of 08'

Around long island, I haven't seen a new F at any dealerships. My closest dealer, Ralle, said sales basically sucked and it's by order only now. I was worried about this for the F until I saw at my closest audi, bmw, mb dealerships they did not have an RS4, M3, C63 in stock either. (off-topic - There was a new S5 and the new E class which were gorgeous)
