Service associate said they highly recommend synthetic in all 8 cylinder engines. Which do you use? Can we go back to regular if we chose, after using synthetic? I didn't like that the intervals are still the same, might as well stick with regular!

i use mobile one simply because i got them at Costco for almost same price as dyno oil. if i could get good dyno oil for dirt cheap, i would have no problem using dyno oil in my car. synthetic is superior in controlled tests, but for the average driver, those superior charateristics don't usually translate to real world benefit especially if one does not keep the car for more than > 100k miles. i do think i get slightly better gas mileage with Mobile 1 although i cannot prove that.

i would ignore 100% of what he said. i would never go back to him for that matter. there is no harm to swap back and forth between synthetic and dyno oil, but i don't see the point of doing that unless you plan to track your car and change to synthetic before you track your car.

I have used Synthetic Mobil 1 10W-30 for the first 20k... My last oil changed I used Royal Purple Synthetic Oil which supposedly is dynod to give the car 5+hp.. Regardless of the cliams ... My car feels a lot more responsive than before.. Maybe its in my head but I like the Purple. =)
