Did you trade your ISx50 for the F?
Hello,
I think I read a few of the fellow club lexus folks traded in their ISx50s for the Fs?
Wondering was it worth it? Please enlighten me with your wisdom
Been considering it myself, but I'm a bit emotionally attached to my current ISx50.
Thanks!

I think about the extra cash that I could have sitting in my pocket. LOL. It ended up costing (with taxes, loss on my IS350, etc.) about 44K for me. Is the 0-60 in 4.3 vs. 5.1 seconds really worth 44K? LOL For the first year or so, I was totally stoked about having the IS-F but lately, I would rather have the 44K. For reference, I had purchased in Oct 2005 my IS350 for full sticker and I ended up paying about 45K. I used it for 2 1/2 years and got 32K back. I bought my IS-F almost 2 years ago (again, full sticker) for 66K so I had to put up an extra 44K! All these numbers were my true figures (tax included).
Yeah, I know I got ripped off, but that's the price you pay for being the first on the block.
If I could do it over again, I'd of never bought the 06 IS350 and kept my 03 ES300 until the IS-F came out. Then I'd have waited until beginning of 09 to get an 08 at 48K. I would've kept my ES300 (knowing what I know now) for the winters so I wouldn't have spent an additional 4K for Volk winter rims and tires and sensors. Even with winter tires on the F, the ES300 worked better in the snow.

I traded my (slowest of the ISs) 250 AWD for the F and haven't looked back. I've had my F almost a year and driven it about 18k miles. It's also nice that my F has everything in it. My other car didn't have several of the goodies my F has.
My only regret is gas mileage...but that I just blame on my right foot..lol

Yea I'd be coming from an IS250 RWD so I think the engine performance would be quite different.
Unfortunately my car has the nav stuff so the tech differences wouldn't be that great, Mark Levison/Parking Sensors/Better Seats/Steering Wheel Moving thing.

That's what I'm afraid of. I guess new things eventually do get old. I'm also guessing that it'll be more worthy of an upgrade coming from an 250 than say a 350.

As a person who has owned both a rwd 250 and currently driving a 350, I think its worth it if you like the differences. Meaning the engine/intake, (breathtaking I think) exhaust, the seats are awesome,(no seat cooler though),the Mark Levison is a big upgrade at least to my ears, and rarity on the road. My experience from reading the many different forums gas mileage isn't that much different in real world numbers from the 350 and F. The insurance,at least with state farm and my driving record, the F is only 10 bucks more a month. (I'm 25 though and married) I am hopefully getting close to closing on a 2010 Matador Red IS-F and fully think the upgrade is worth it. After driving an IS-F and other comparable cars, I prefer the F to them all and love the fact I know of no one in my area that has one.

Since the ride quality always comes up, in your opinion how's the 350 vs. -F compare in ride quality?
