Detailing the IS-F
Hey everyone, I know there's been a lot of threads regarding this but I needed to get down to the specifics. First of all, for you Cali guys, do you recommend any professional detailer who will do a great job(OEM or better).
Another thing is that I was considerin is doing it my self, not with all the tools but the basic wax and polish etc. So from what I've read these are the order of steps I should take :
1. Wash car( I use Meguairs Gold Class; know of anything better?)
2. possibly claybar if needed(My paint looks OEM clean after wash, no contamination)
3. Wax( NXT tech wax 2.0)
4. polish( don't know of one)
5. detailer spray( meguairs ultimate quick detailer)
* I basically just want that deep wet look to hide the swirls, since I have obsidian.
thanks guys in advance

Try the detailing forum. There's a lot of detailed (sic) guidance on products and techniques as well as a few detailers who hang out.

you want to polish the car before putting on any wax.
if your car is still in good condition, doing those will help to maintain the condition. if you have to polish the car and remove swirl, then it's all about techniques and experience. the kind of pads, the compound, the speed, etc... all comes into play
where in cali are you? good and real pro detailers aren't cheap. you are looking at paying 200-300 bucks to detail your car, and it's easily a full day's work

Contact Chris at GlimmerGlass and he will guide you.. He guided me on what waxes and polished to get.. For swirls you may need a buffer and good pad to get the swirls out.. Send him a PM.. he more than glad to help.. GL..

If you want the best looking longest lasting finish. See the link below, and follow their "Tips, and Tricks", you really do not want to use an abrasive polish on a new car, instead use a clay bar. The baggie test will let you know if you need to clay bar your car.

I have never herd of zaino
but i have now looked into them because of all the + in this thread
i myself use mainly meguiars
but im looking for a good sealant
and zaino has the z-cs clear seal that I may try
they claim it lasts 9 months ish
and its easy to apply
I dont mind a little work
can anyone recommend any fantastic sealants that last a min of 3 months?
or should I try zaino?
