I really don't understand your reason for the jab but ok. The M3 is more popular than the IS F.

not sure about more popular. the m3 has been around longer, so there are more of them on the roads. the lack of IS F's on the classifieds simply means it there arent too many up for grabs as a secondhand sale. the 36 M3's listed to me shows that people are either getting bored with it, it requires too much maintenance (beyond the warranty and dealer aid), or it probably broke down or had some trouble, which makes the first two points mentioned even more enhanced.

no one's really taking jabs, even though this is a LEXUS forum. its just facing reality. when asked at the bmw of monrovia dealership, two (yes, two) of the salesmen did acknowledge that the IS F is a fresh car, and one they would choose to try to sell over the m3. its not that the m3 wasnt a good sale, it was their experience in their potential buyers ultimately purchasing the F or even a lexus brand in general. despite what auto magazines writes, Lexus is a brand that people can safely presume will be reliable and a cognitive sound decision. the IS F simply enhances it with the technology and performance that is not only equivalent but also exceeds that of its competitors.

I'm guessing that the M3 outsells the F by more than a 3 to 1 margin....so 36 vs. 12 isn't surprising in the least.

More m3's are on the road - so naturally more for sale....

As to guess why they are for sale is silly (could be anything from loss of job to bought wrong car for wrong reason, etc.....)

The e92 m3 is still king of the road no matter what us Lexus owners say. The IS-F is a great product from Lexus and matches my needs but I would never dare say it's superior to the BMW m3. Only an idiot would proclaim one car is superior over the other.

A mature comment! Maybe why this is a IS-F owner?

-Yep couldn't agree with you more,
Also out of the 29 M3's (used and or cpo's) vs. the 13 ISF's on Ebay.
21 of those M3's are 08's ~equates to 72%? (likely a majority being traded for 09s's)...The local dealers are still trying to get rid of 08's here (with the older IDrive)...

Whether it be M3/C63/ISF/or S4..All are great sedans to have fun with

This is a true statement here in South Florida I see a couple of M3's about everyday, in contrast the F is rare....

with the holiday season, dealers are still trying to sell some of the 08 m3's at deep discounts, but only a handful were from customers who wanted to trade for the 09 m3. inventory that isnt sold is practically the same thing as a loss. if its not sold to a customer, it just sits there in the lot. for the IS F, i know there were some that traded in for a newer model, but it makes sense that there arent too many from eBay or other car selling sites. the m3 has been introduced to the automotive world for a long time, while the F has been out a good two years only.

i agree, all four of those cars listed would be so much fun to drive- sure, each ride has its own pros and cons, but in the end its all a matter of personal preference.
