Who has park assist?
Do you find the park assist helpful or do you rarely use it? Is there an "off" button or a way you can disable it?
I've heard if you are stopped, like at a red light, and a car behind you gets close, it will alarm.......is that true? That would seem annoying.

I have it on my 09. It is very useful in my opinion. It stays on 100% of the time for me. Yes you can enable/disable it when needed.
The only time the rear park assist sensors will alert you is if you're in reverse. So if someone happens to pull close to you at a red light and you're in either park, neutral, drive...it will not beep. However the front sensors will go off if someone walks close to the front or within range.

My park assist is on 100% and it beeps in any position except park. I use it not to hit my bike in front of the garage. I also got stuck "in the box" in the middle of NYC and it went crazy when people started to walk around the car. I never got so many dirty looks and thumbs up at once! I was just happy not to get a huge ticket for being in the intersection like that.

I am not sure exactly what is meant by park assist (I'm thinking about the system in the LX-460 series cars that actually do hands-off parking for you) but if it is the system that lets you know you are too close to curbs, other cars, garage walls and things in the garage, then I can say it's a great tool and I always have mine engaged. I've found that when I pull too close to a car in front of me it goes off but cannot remember a time when someone pulled to close to my "6" that it went off. Good feature for sure.
