Default Is white leather on the IS-F too high maintenance?

Thinking of getting the USB with white leather.

For those owners that chose the white leather interior, do you find that it's too easy to get dirty? (I know white gets dirty easily )

Are there special treatments you can apply to the leather to prevent staining?

Thanks.

Depends on how meticulous you are. I used to have tan / beige seats, beautiful when new but they were PITA to maintain, especially around creaks.

The problem I find with light leather is the dye in jeans, slacks etc start to stain the seats. I love the look of the white but in 4 years and 40k miles I don't think it will still look good and most of the people with white have not experienced a good long term on the leather. If it will be your daily driver like me I would go another way.

And I've been told that leather that has taken up dye from clothing, etc., cannot be cleaned but, rather, must be redyed.... I love white but would never own 'em.

ive noticed that the dye in jeans really does show too much on the alpine interior. never again. i covered my front buckets with sheepskin, and not only do you get more warmth, but also it protects well. occasionally i'll take out the sheepskin to see if the leather is still good, and it is. just a good leather protector like armor all works fine.

I talked to a couple of salesmen and they were honest in saying that....in particular...dye in the jeans might show. They also said they can't guarantee it might come off with cleaning.

I have to admit that white leather is very, very cool.

But I guess in the end practicality won out. I did get the USB with black interior.

The C63 AMG lost. Great car. The MB dealer gave me the keys and I spent a couple of hours on it. A total beast.

But I like the look of the IS-F better. I think the tranny in manual mode shifts faster. And the Lexus dealer gave me a very good deal.

Probably will put that air filter that bumps up the hp by 28 on the IS-F.

Anybody have any experience with that?

If so, is it for real?

I was talking to the Lexus service manager and he said it's the real deal.

all leather is hard to keep
just because u cant see it dosnt mean its not there

the white is too sexy
and it will ware on all the parts that id like to turn terra cotta
so imagine that
white on black with terra cotta up the middle
hahaha, id do it one day if anything happened
maybe just for fun

I own an SC430 with the ecru (white) interior, use Zaino products to clean and condition, no problems !!

Nice colour combo but every little scruff or coloured imperfection would bother me. I'd probably spend more time with the leather shampoo than actually driving it.

The white is very classy and a nice contrast, but I would be very worried about the upkeep and potential damage to it. I say go with black interior.

in my opinion its not the cleaning to worry about

its people and the buttons on jeans and wallets and cell phones gouging the leather as they slide in and out

but like i said, my alpine seats are conditioned and perfectly clean

its people and ware and tare that give me my blemishes

and im sure ull face that on black or white

I love my USB over Alpine interior....A Year and half with 22xxx miles there is no dye on the leather....Also my friend has an F with black interior...His black leather is showing more wear with less miles...Not sure if they used different leather for black and Alpine...Anyways you will be happy with either one

USB/Alpine is one of the most RARE combo
