Track days are the solution to this problem. You'll be a lot more confident with the nannies off when you've been around the track and got a feel for the car at your limits.
I totally agree. I'm looking to take some classes this summer then maybe take the GS out (lol). I looked at some track events but haven't found the right one yet.
Any California guys have suggestions on some classes? Is Skip Barber the best way to start?

Skip barber is definitely a great way to start, I did the 2 days High Performance driving school last year, and it is a great way to improve your skills, I have a little write up here.
I'm thinking of going to Buttonwillow for their Performance Driving Clinic on February 27, and other So-Cal members interested ?

Take a look at Fast Lane Driving School at Willow Springs. It is fairly reasonable, $875 if you drive their race prepared celicas for the day, $695 if you drive your own car for half the day, and $495 if you drive your own car the whole day. I plan on attending the class in March myself, see the link.
Thanks for the input guys! The Fast Lane Driving School looks interesting. I like that they let you use their cars then get accustomed to your own. This may be the way to finish off these crappy run flats!
