Lexus IS-F CCS Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon

After checking the Lexus.jp site i am quite sure the posted price of 7.800.000 yen is wrong, as it is the exact same price for the normal is-f in Japan. Most likely it will cost 25-30k $ more, depending on how much carbon they intend to use (i even see lots of carbon in the interior!) and if they reworked the engine and suspension or not. 200 lbs less weight, 40 hp more and retuned suspension/steering would be a nice start to compete with the new C63 upgrade kit and the M3 track car. Let's hope Lexus thinks the same...

Toyota never seem to add hp to an engine without making swaps/exchanges impossible - witness the Supra JDM turbos not at all interchangeable with the USDM models even though both graced the same 2JZ-GTE long block. As much as I'd love for them to add hp, my bet is the power rating will be identical to the current model.

I wish it had a real splitter, a real diffuser, and a wing mounted high enough to do something useful. All the aero looks cosmetic, not functional. Some of the rest is OK, but if the idea is a "track day" car, they missed the mark IMHO.

Lexus IS-F CCS (Lightweight)
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...s-concept.html
Tucked away towards the back of Toyota’s booth at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon was this IS-F CCS Concept that looks to be a lightweight version of the performance-minded sedan. Not much details could be found on this CCS Concept, but we definitely fell in love with the bright orange shade and carbon fiber accents. The hood, trunk, and spoiler were all constructed on carbon fiber while the front bumper and side skirts got a mild trim accent and the rear bumper its own carbon fiber diffuser. A slightly different exhaust system also appears to be a part of the package, as do the light weight wheels. It also doesn’t take an expert to see that this IS-F features a significantly lowered suspension.
Looking at the IS-F CCS Concept, we can’t help but think of the equally-orange BMW M3 GTS, which debuted recently in Germany as a track-only club racer. Is Lexus thinking of offering a similar model, or perhaps a light-weight street legal version? We certainly hope so.

So we have heard about a rumored lightweight IS-F for sometime now. This is created by Lexus and not some aftermarket company. Rumors are it is using CF parts created from learnings/machines from the LFA.
Now the question is how much less does it weigh and how much would it be if sold?
