I know it does. And I'm telling you that the 1UZ is not more than 400lbs.

Kudos to the LF-A for prodigious power in a light package, but so few will ever get to experience it first hand.

Right after I win the lottery I'll be developing a whole host of titanium parts for the 2UR-GSE starting with crank, rods, and torque converter...

So you've answered your own (hypothetical) question. The reason the 2UR-GSE is heavier is because it's DOHC and it does not use a substantial amount of exotic materials.

Different engines for different goals. The LS is a pushrod design that is nowhere close to being as refined as the 2UR-GSE in terms of NVH. The LS engines offer good fuel economy, good packaging, and low weight at the cost of refinement/NVH.

GM also has over 60 years experience in making pushrods. They are the world's best when it comes to pushrods.

Toyota on the other hand does not have nearly that much experience making DOHC engines. Let's wait and see what Toyota can do after 60 years of DOHC experience.

255hp rx7's 13B-rew rotary: ~400lbs (1.6 lbs/hp) [unverified]
505hp c6z06's ls7 v8: ~460 lbs (0.9 lbs/hp)

405hp c5z06's ls6 v8: ~500lbs (1.23 lbs/hp)

320hp supra 2jz-gte i6: ~590lbs (1.8lbs/hp)
480hp skyline's vr38dett v6: ~610lbs (1.3 lbs/hp)
I'm curious where the numbers for the 1LR-GUE were obtained from? I know the engine is extremely light for a V10 (let alone a V8), but as far as I know there haven't been any official numbers released yet, or is this insider info?

I apologize for bringing this thread back from the dead if there is no interest, but I am curious to know more about this concept if it is available. Could not really find anything solid from a google search here and in Japan. The engine weight discussion was interesting, but I am hoping that in the ten+ months this thread has been asleep that someone has some more information about the CCS or other track models that may be 'coming' to shows.

In looking at ground kit it looks very similar to the recently completed kit for ViperVern, ( https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-the-is-f.html )

Thanks,
Charles

Hey Charles,

Seems to be a show car only. Nothing like it available here or overseas. Shame really a lightweight IS F would be interesting.
