+ one on this theory. Have one and love it, even the wife likes driving the car now. I tried to put it back to stock, and she said it sounds WEAK like that, so back on the K&N went. At the drags last summer I ran against a identical stock F and I pulled on him by about a car in the 8th. and before you all start, yes it was the same color as mine, so NO that wasn't the difference In all actuality I really think one would be hard pressed to "feel" a 10 to 20 hp difference in a 400 + hp car. If you do, you missed your calling, you should have been a human dyno. Some of you here may be more knowledgeable than I am on this but I am pretty sure it takes around 100 hp increase to gain 1 second, If that is correct, then you would gain .1 to .2 with 10 to 20 hp increase. Either way the thing sounds like a BEAST with it on there, so, there it will stay. My next mod will either be a Joe Z exhaust or ISS Forged exhaust, need to do more research on them both. Though I do like the looks of the ISS tips.

My F trapped at 109mph doing a 13 Flat, but I didnt shut off my secondary traction control,, didnt put the car in park and held on to the switch to shut off traction control.. dont know if that would make a big difference in time and trap speed.

When I first put in my K&N Intake I had some really bad loss in torque, especially on hotter days. What I did was completely seal the intake heat shield with thermal wrap, and do my best to seal up all intake from the hot engine compartment air. This made a HUGE difference. Note in the picture below I tried to make a tight a seal as possible with the. stock front intake scoop...this way the intake is sucking in fresh cooler air rather than the hot engine compartment air. The intake shield when one gets it from K&N is adequate, but there are so many gaps that allow a lot of hot air into the intake, especially on the bottom of the heat shield..Darshana S...

When I first got the K intake I noticed that my car took about two days to get used to it. Once it did it felt fine. I even raced a blue IS-F that was stock and I had 3 people in my car including myself and he was alone and I pulled on him slowly but noticebly. I imagine if I was alone it would of been by even more. He even rolled down the window and asked what I had and noticed that it was faster than his.. Just my .02

I'm really amazed anyone would post anything if this is the case. Put the passengers on the shoulder and race. This kind of result is as meaningless as not having a time slip.

i misread 8th for gears, just wanted to clarify because i have never used 6+ gears after 500 or so miles, only wifey drives in automatic.
did you post time slips? 660 feet is a short distance to pull a whole car length with just an intake... perhaps different tires and drivers played a part?
