the injen one basically looks the same as the k and n filter, just has a semi-top cover on top..

did you post time slips? 660 feet is a short distance to pull a whole car length with just an intake... perhaps different tires and drivers played a part?
No, as I said earlier in the post all you got was a win or loose light. I am really the wrong person to be commenting on these things, I am not really what you guys call a "racer". This event was just something I just stumbled upon. Was the first time I ever ran a car down a race track in a straight line. I have auto-crossed for many years and done quite a few track days, but racing in a straight line is really NOT my thing.

To put some numbers with a sealed K&N:

BLITZ R-VIT iColor results:
I got a peak of 336 g/s of air flow (not yet tested on high speed runs)
Outside vs Intake Temp: -4 deg. C vs. -1 deg. C. while driving
Outside vs Intake Temp: -4 deg. C vs. 10 deg. C. while idle (1 min)

I will retest with a BLITZ SUS Intake (from my UZZ40 - which happily fits also the K&N adapter tube) to see if there is more air to flow.

^^^^What STB is that? Did you find that it stiffened up the front end?

Thanks for the info/testing Marcus, those numbers don't look too bad, did you ever record in a similar fashion with the stock airbox or the K&N without your heatshield treatment like it comes from the manufacture to compare?

@Clifftrail - unfortunately i didn't (got my BLITZ RVIT after), but what i can say so far: without my custom heatshield, the K&N cone and tube felt much hotter after driving... so there is a big difference compared to a proper heat sealed intake.

I know im gonna get bombarded for this but the Joe Z is just a sleeve, it shouldent even be considered an Intake if it still uses the stock air box... (No offense Joe, you do great work).. I just find it hard to pay approx $200 for 5 hp..

Correct it's not a full intake.. It is an Intake Pipe replacement...

The smoother air flow gives a proven 5-6 Rwhp Gain.. and its only $140
It's design optimizes the OEM Airflow path.

BTW - No offensive taken...

Once the weather around here gets back to normal I will check my car intake temps with the vehicle idling hot, and running down the road to see that the temp if the intake charge is. My K&N is not insulated such as yours, I just don't have your patients or skill...
