I went from stock to SRT. SRT SUCKED, lost power at mid range. At first I liked the "wide open sound" of the intake (CAI affect) but after a while i started to miss the stock sound. I am back to stock airbox with a slight mod in the pipe but that's it, and I really like the way it sounds when it has the two stage intake rather than just the single CAI/cone (SRT, K&N, etc... )

I have a K&N intake with a borla exhaust on my 08 F and Its amazing. IMO when doing an intake the exhaust needs to be able to flow better, Without it your engine can only suck in what it can push out. If you have a free flowing exhaust system the intake will do its job better. The exhaust note is amazing with the borla

Surprised you don't find the Borla too loud? Most people here who tried the Borla ditched it almost just as quickly......

Oztiks: You made good point about the 2-stage stock intake which I like as well....hmmm may just stay stock for now, wth

KN and Borla here as well!

I installed the KN first and after I installed the Borla I noticed a huge improvement in high end power. If you have a KN intake I highly reccomend a free flowing exhaust for maximum gain!

FYI, for those that bypass the dualstage on the stock airbox make sure you release the stored pressure by temporary unplugging one of the vacuum hoses. If you don't do this the flap for the dualstage will ALWAYS remain close.

I am running the JoeZ intake tube with a K&N drop-in filter. My exhaust is a custom built dual setup with the secondary cats removed, dual glass pack resonators and stock mufflers. IMHO, the sound is pure heaven

Do you have a video clip of your exhaust?

^^^^No, I did this when I only had 100 miles on the car, and I never got around to it. Maybe I can try this week. I'll keep you posted.

I also am running what Flip is. Love it thus far with no complaints what-so-ever. I'm really curious to see and hear some reviews on the new Takeda/AFE intake that was just released

Hey Mike, my Takeda review is here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-takeda-3.html

It starts at post#43

I'm sorry to say, I can't answer that question. The exhaust shop that did the work for me told me that both the Glasspacks and the X-Pipe were built by a local company in Phoenix. I physically inspected them at the time of the install, and the quality looked good to me.

The answers to your other questions are here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ound-clip.html

BTW, as you can tell by my answer to Mike, I now have a Takeda Intake that I'm am very happy with. And, last week I helped another member of this forum install an Injen intake. IMHO, the Takeda isolates the filter better from the underhood heat, but the Injen Tube is longer and it's filter is larger. It also does away with the stock dual stage intake system that the Takeda retains. For me, the Takeda is the better choice.

^Thanks for the heads up Lou, I completely missed that thread somehow I'm still wanting to see another dyno or even track numbers comparing the Joe Z and Takeda systems. The dyno chart on the linked thread doesn't make much sense to me...
