JP, I used to own an 01 z06 with headers and mild cam (basically just an 02' cam, since they were a little more aggressive than the 01's) and can attest to quite a few people doing just headers, but then again the z06's came with a ti-exhaust stock, so who knows...

480 hp range at the crank sounds about right. You usually loose around 15% to the wheels with a RWD car. Port and polish the intake and throttle body should take it close if not over the 500 hp at the crank. If we could tune the ECU this would also help maximize the hp potential of all these mods.

That is done quite a bit in the corvette world. Increase the WHP with the headers and maintain a fairly quiet exhaust note.
Not sure about the required back pressure but again in the vettes on a LS2 1 3/4" headers made more horsepower and torque than did the 1 7/8". The greatest loss was torque in the midrange (under the curve) where dyno test would show nearly 30 LB FT difference at the wheels. That was on a LS2 with bolt ons only, if we went with FI or heads/Cam then the 1 7/8" was the way to go.

Back pressure? Not again...bigger tubes present MORE pressure, not less. That's why you lose mid-range with bigger tubes.
Some additional information on header design and exhaust theory.

Best bet would be an LFA n/a motor....

Elite isn't the only one. Sikky did the same thing with their headers. Follow the link on LexusF.com for all information about the sikky headers. Sikky is not a sponsor on clublexus.
