Default 30K Miles in 1.9 years on 2nd set of front brakes :(

Yep, you read it, 30K miles (normal driving) already on the 2nd set of brakes and braking the bank. Sheesh

Rear brakes (original still have about 22% left)

But you know what, it' worth it!

Sorry everyone, 30K miles is almost two years!

Anyways, found out I need front and rear rotors replaced too, so Sonic MS is going to have my caliper's painted "Brembo Red" I'll post pics after we are done.

Another weird thing is that my rear brakes still have about 12% left but the rear rotors are shot. I think someone else on the forum mentioned this too.

Im pretty sure your so called "normal driving" is definitely not your average Joe's normal driving,,, especially if you are starting your 3rd set in 30k (im counting your original set too) I have 7500 miles on my original pads and it looks like I still have 75-80% life left... And trust me,, I dont drive like Grandma either

hmmm... I better ask the wifey who's she is racing during the day but seriously, 5 trips to SoCal, once a month to Sacto from SJ and regular driving. We tend to drive this car more often since its mobile enough to get into parking places everywhere.

1st set - replace at 14K miles
2nd set - done at 30K miles
3rd set - who knows..... maybe 40K/45K miles???

I think we are on track, because the parts manager at Stevens Creek Lexus said they only have a lifespan of 15K miles.

Long trips don't kill brakes. I've done the Sacto to Union City/Fremont/San Jose run a ridiculous number of times and only used the brakes three or four times for the whole run unless it was rush hour.

Seriously - I've got 22k on my F now, and I just looked at the pads yesterday when I took the wheels off to clean the brakes and wheel wells. I've still got more than 50% of my pads left. I really marvel at how many of you guys burn up brakes so quickly. Even with a track weekend on my rotors, they're still in fine shape - despite the cracks.

That's me...so we are 2 people who had their rear rotors go before the rear pads. Weird...

currently at 23K and no issues with either brakes...must be your driving style influencing wear...
