Default Thinking of trading in my 09 IS350 for an 08 ISF

Hey guys, hoping to get some feedback on the 08 ISF. Looking at trading in my IS350 for one. Is there anything I need to be looking for, common problems and such. Also ther car is at Lexus of FT Myers FL. Anybody know how they operate, or if they knew the previous owner....small community after all! Thanks guys I really appreciate it!!!!!

biggest difference between the two cars maintenance wise is the brakes!! IsF brake pads wear alot faster than the 350.. Cars alot bumpier too,, I think thats about it.

idefinitely bring a mechanic (one that you trust) to take a look at the engine and electrical work. also, it doesnt hurt to haggle the price even lower. the biggest difference should be performance and brake wear. nothing either ceramic pads or elbow grease wont solve. any particular color combo you were looking for with the F? as far as problems, i think the only problem has nothing to do with the car itself but rather a lack of aftermarket parts. but it does seem like there are more products becoming available now that the F has been in the market for a few years now. best of luck davidlmed!

The car is bll/blk. I've been working on cars my whole life so I should be able to spot the sighs of abuse. As far as brake wear....the pads wear down quicker or rotors and pads?

Pads and rotors wear together. Most need both replaced at the same time.

so far my 08 has had no major issues....just some sound coming from dash (probally due to the stiffer suspension)....but dealer took it in and removed the dash to fix the rattles. I just drove a 350 and really noticed the big difference in how heavy the F steering was in comparison as well as the suspension being much stiffer and reactive...don't think you can go wrong with the trade up!

To be honest, I wouldnt worry about the 08 IsF being abused... especially if its sitting on the lot of a Lexus Dealer,,, it's probably a certified pre-owned with extended warranty!!! If it was a beat up and abused IsF, Im pretty sure it wont sit on the Lexus lot. It would have been wholesaled out to used car lots if it was not a mint condition IsF... If anything, I would concentrate more on the price!!! Dealers love to make a killing on their used cars...

Do it. Not much to worry about, plus it will still be under warranty.

Check for:
vibrating rear view mirror (up date available)
Alignment drift to the right (there are brackets to fix this, warranty)
Expensive items to haggle for in deal, new Michelin PS2 tires, Brake job (pads and rotors)
Have them include free of charge resetting of the "personalized settings" (usually 30min Labor ~$75)
Check all wheels for curb rash, scrapes, etc. These wheels are EXPENSIVE and you want them perfect when you buy (~$6,600 a set)
If it doesn't have it already, decide if you want a satellite radio receiver put in.

Good luck striking a deal. I LOVE my 2008 ISF
