Default IS-F w/Suspension mods does a 1:02.246 at Tsukuba!

I'm amazed how fast this car is able to lap.

From Speedhunters:

"The engine in this ISF was stock but thanks to lots of suspension upgrades, which include full pillow-ball links, the driver/owner "Mr. Lexus" managed a 1'02"246."

Full pillowball links? Damn. That's the first thing I'd do to a dedicated track ride right before sending it out to get the cage put in. As quick as that may be, without a wing on the car, everyone else is going to drive away from him in fast turns.

[EDIT]So I see fast cars are doing 0:55" laps...1:02 is a long way from fast in this crowd.[/EDIT]

+1 to timeToy post. Having only the new IS-F time doesn't help understanding the improvement. At least post the time before the suspension mods.

Indeed, check out the ironing board wings sported by all others cars...

This car did a 0:55.5. Check out the splitter - now that's some downforce!

I agree. Compared with the other cars running that day it is not competitive, but considering Best Motoring ran a 1:07.087 with a stock IS-F it's quite an improvement.

Considering the GT-R, Gallardo SL & F360 CS do 1:01:15-1:02:44, I'd say 1:02:2xx is fairly impressive for just suspension mods.

Hardly. Those cars all have rubber suspension bushings. This IS-F has pillowballs on the suspension and likely a roll cage. Both of these are worth a LOT in terms of lap times. Like 5 seconds or so...pillowball and cage the other cars and the F won't even see them after the start.

It's not bad. But it's far from great. I'd call it good for a very heavy car, but certainly not something I'd do to my DD.

Despite the rather extreme suspension mods, that is still very good for an otherwise stock IS-F.
